Markham Reserve is a magnificent fenced playground in Ashburton with lots of equipment for children of all ages. Within the fence you’ll find lots of tracks cycling, scooting and riding, while outside the fence is a dedicated skate park and one of the best scooter parks Melbourne has to offer.

 2. Pirate Ship Playground, Aberfeldie

Shout ahoy me mateys as you ride around the Black Sapphire, a pirate ship that’s run aground at Riverside Park Aberfeldie! The track is quite short and flat so it makes for a good bike track for toddlers.

There are three playgrounds set amongst leafy Ruffey Lake, which means that it’s one of best parks for bike riding because there are lots of options as to where to ride. 

Your bike, scooter or ride-on will be especially handy as the three playgrounds aren’t really within standard walking distance between each other.

5. Aeroplane Park, Braybrook

The Aeroplane Playground in Braybrook Park (officially known as the Lance Reichstein Reserve) is a park with bike track around its perimeter.

Its centrepiece is an amazing 4 piece aeroplane structure with multiple pieces of equipment suitable for different ages.

 6. Pioneer Drive, Woodlea

Woodlea is kicking it out the park with the awesomeness of its playgrounds! One of the smaller ones in the estate is Pioneer Drive a playground bike track combination – there’s a miniature skate park around the perimeter of the main play equipment. Watch out for the bumps on the bike track playground!

15.  Trueman Reserve, Cranbourne West

A bright and sunny playground inside Clarinda Park housing estate that’s surrounding by flat paths that are great for biking and scootering.

16. Donald McLeane Reserve, Spotswood

Recently upgraded Donald McLean Reserve is home to an enormous playground with a flying fox, swings, slides, climbing ropes, a sandpit with waterplay, sheltered barbecue facilities, a basketball and netball court and more.

A big highlight of this new playground is the large bike skills track that also has a pump track. 

The pump track is perfect for those who love to ride and experience the thrill of speed. While the traffic skills track is great for kids to improve their riding abilities and understanding of road safety.

Throughout the reserve there are concrete paths that also lead around the two ovals, making it a perfect for practising bike skills.

17. Alamanda Traffic Park, Point Cook

On Peppers Avenue within Alamanda Estate, lies a small dedicated traffic park perfect for early learners. This park has a small road with traffic signs and is great for younger kids starting out, with smaller bikes and scooters. And best of all it’s fully fenced.

A short walk away is Bayview Pirate Park with one of Melbourne’s most-thrill seeking slides.

18. Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne

Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens offer a wide range of fun activities in a beautiful setting. 

The Children’s Garden is a dedicated space for families and a popular spot during the warmer months for picnics. Kids can explore the bamboo forest, play in a sandpit, among water fountains or relax in a hammock swing.

Kids can ride and scoot their way around the many paths and trails throughout the gardens.

19. Delta Reserve Playground, Greensborough

Another recently upgraded park worth exploring is Delta Road Park in Greensborough.

Located beside Diamond Village Shopping Centre, the playground has swings, slides, a car themed cubby house, cableway and climbing ropes. However the main draw card is the large bike skills track. 

Kids will love the mini roads which feature traffic signs, a roundabout, speed bumps and even petrol station pumps.

20. Hansen Reserve, West Footscray

This large green space features sports fields, tennis courts, a playground and a junior bike track for kids to practice their cycling and scooting!
