HOT: Victory Park, Chelsea Beach

Victory Park Chelsea is a popular Chelsea playground for beach-going families located on the foreshore of Chelsea Beach in Melbourne.

Victory Park playground has all the facilities that you might need for a fun day out and the beach and playground setting means you can combine two outings in one!

The Chelsea Beach playground is good for younger kids as most of the equipment is low level. The lighthouse is more challenging to climb up and provides great views of the bay from the top (pretend) telescope.

The Chelsea Beach park equipment has a nautical theme with slides, poles and bridges, a boat as well as lots of sand with a few sand diggers.

There are also two fairy-tale castle styled forts/cubbies for imaginative play.

Baby 2.0’s favourite thing to do at Chelsea Beach Melbourne is actually to scoot around the perimeter path. It undulates slightly and even ends up at the beach if you take a turn.

The beachside path at Chelsea Beach is not as continuous or smooth as the path at Mordialloc so if you’re wanting to just to scoot then best to head to the latter.

Chelsea Beach itself is a great place for kids as it's shallow, generally calm and clean. I think it's one of the best beaches in Melbourne.

There is a little bit of shade under the miniature stage area for a rest, as well as sheltered picnic tables and barbecues further away. The toilet block, outdoor showers and deck chairs overlooking the sea are in close proximity.

Within walking distance of Victory Park are the shops and cafes of Chelsea so you can make a day of it.
