Easter in Melbourne is a magical time for families. As the city comes alive with colourful decorations, festive treats, and exciting activities, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate with the kids.

This year there are heaps of family-friendly Easter events happening in Melbourne and surrounds between Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April 2026.

Some events are free, some require tickets and pre-booking – so hop to it!

What’s on in Melbourne this Easter

CBD & Southbank

• Twinkle Hollow – Melbourne’s Biggest Easter Egg Hunt (Daily throughout March & April)
Join the magical Twinkle adventure at The District Docklands. Children aged 4-12 will use the Enchanted Glass to hunt virtual Easter eggs while dodging cheeky foxes. Each player leaves with Easter eggs, making it an unforgettable family experience this school holiday!

• Kids Day Out at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (3 April 2026, 10:00am–5:00pm)
Melbourne’s favourite Good Friday family event. Expect a full day of laughter, live entertainment, interactive zones and spontaneous fun. It’s free, high-energy and packed with activities for all ages.

• Skyline Melbourne Easter Egg Hunt at Skyline Melbourne (28–29 March 2026)
An egg-citing waterfront hunt with age-group sessions, Easter crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny. After the hunt, families can enjoy mini golf or a ride on the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel with ticket discounts.

• Easter at South Melbourne Market (Thurs 2, Sat 4 & Sun 5 Apr 2026 – Market closed Good Friday)
Your one-stop shop for Easter entertaining. Stock up on hot cross buns, chocolate eggs, fresh seafood and lamb while supporting small business. On Thursday 2 April, the Easter Bunny will be hopping through the Market, plus the annual Easter Egg Hunt returns to raise funds for the Good Friday Appeal.

• Easter Hop & Spot at Kew Junction (4 April 2026, 11:00am–2:00pm)
A free Easter Saturday window adventure through Kew Junction. Wander the precinct spotting Easter surprises, meet storybook characters and hunt for golden treasures along the way.

•Taste of Reservoir at the Easter Festival (28 March 2026, 10:00am–1:00pm)
Edwardes Street transforms into a buzzing community celebration with food tastings, roving entertainment, wildlife displays, craft zones and an Easter egg hunt. Free entry, with tasting tickets available for foodie families.

• Easter Wonderland at Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie (5 March – 5 April 2026)

• The Fun In Art – Easter Editions (Altona & Williamstown) (Various dates)

Regional Easter Events

• Bendigo Easter Festival at Rosalind Park (3–6 April 2026)
