CBD & Docklands
- Bluey’s Big Play at the Comedy Theatre (1–12 July 2026)
Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad come to life through brilliantly crafted puppets in this 50-minute stage show. There’s no interval, so it suits even the littlest fans. Tickets from $64.90. - Play School: Come and Play! at ACMI (until 12 July 2026)
A free, hands-on exhibition for two- to five-year-olds, built around 60 years of Play School. Kids can climb aboard the Rocket Clock, meet Big Ted and Humpty, and try being a presenter or camera operator for the day. Free, but bookings are essential. - The Epically Awesome Odyssey with R.A. Spratt at The Wheeler Centre (8 July 2026, 1pm–1.45pm)
Nanny Piggins author R.A. Spratt reads from her new book and takes questions in this live storytelling session, best suited to kids aged 8 and up. Tickets are $10 per child, with adults paying what they wish.

School Holiday Events Melbourne North
- ROME: Empire, Power, People at Melbourne Museum (exhibition runs until 25 October 2026, with a dedicated Winter School Holidays program 27 June–12 July)
Over 150 original Roman artefacts, plus a free Mosaic Monuments activity and a ticketed gladiator-themed Creative Lab workshop over the holidays. Best suited to primary-aged kids and up. - Dinos at the Zoo at Melbourne Zoo (until 12 July 2026)
More than 30 animatronic dinosaurs roar and move along a trail through the zoo, with a fossil dig zone for budding palaeontologists. It’s included with general admission, and kids enter free on weekends and school holidays.

School Holiday Events Melbourne West
- Colour: See the World in a New Light at Scienceworks (runs well beyond the holidays, until 26 January 2027)
21 hands-on exhibits exploring how colour works, recommended for ages 5 to 14. Adult tickets are $25, kids $10. - Cirque du Soleil KOOZA (20 May–19 July 2026)
A tribute to traditional circus under the Big Top at Flemington Racecourse, with acrobatics and slapstick comedy running through the whole school holiday period. Best suited to ages 6 and up. Exact session times vary, so check the website before booking.

School Holiday Events Melbourne South
- Home in Colour (27 June–12 July 2026)
An immersive art installation at Chadstone’s Light to Night program, created with artist RONE. Kids step into a streetscape and two interior worlds, a kitchen and a tool shed, that start in black and white and come to life through colour as they leave their mark. Tickets are $5. - The Alphabet of Awesome Science at Kingston Arts (3 July 2026, 10am–11am)
An hour of science demonstrations themed around the alphabet, run by two comedy “professors” at the Shirley Burke Theatre in Parkdale. Suited to ages 3 to 12. Tickets are $15.

- Explorers Program at Studley Park Boathouse (every Sunday, with extra sessions across the holidays)
Mini Explorers (under 7) and Big Explorers (5–12) get stuck into nature-based crafts on the upper deck, while you relax by the Yarra below. - Winter School Holidays at Bunjil Place (27 June–12 July 2026)
A program of family theatre, free craft sessions and dance workshops, including the immersive show Saltbush for ages 4 to 10 (26–28 June) and a free Bollywood dance class (7 July).

School Holiday Events Regional Victoria
- Electric Wonderland at Rosalind Park, Bendigo (26 June–12 July 2026)
A sound and light show with interactive installations, a laser alley and a giant magic snow globe. A good excuse for a winter weekend away. - Winter Glow Festival at Adventure Park, Geelong (20 June–29 August 2026)
Victoria’s biggest indoor snow zone, a new ice toboggan, and a 2.5km trail of lights to wander through. Tickets start from $42, and kids under 90cm get in free.
