Voted Asia’s #1 Waterpark on Tripadvisor, Waterbom Bali combines excitement and relaxation to provide an unforgettable experience for families.
From the moment you step through the gates, the excitement is palpable and here’s a detailed account of our family visit to Waterbom Bali with two preschool-aged kids, including the perks of gazebo hire and practical tips for your trip.
Waterbom Park Bali
Waterbom Bali exceeds our expectations. The park is designed well to cater to families, with a variety of attractions and facilities that ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.
The first thing you’ll notice when stepping into Waterbom Bali, is the lush greenery and beautifully maintained gardens.
Navigating through the park is a breeze, thanks to clear signage and friendly staff ready to assist.
We find the atmosphere welcoming and relaxed, making it easy to settle in and start our adventure.
With over 26 slides built to international safety standards, families can enjoy a day of adrenaline-pumping fun!
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy relax in one of the lagoon pools, many of which have a swim-up bar.
As well as the aquatic facilities, indulge in locally sourced, high-end dining options and simply enjoy the relaxing setting of lush gardens that make up more than half of the park’s area.
Waterbom Park for Preschoolers
Waterbom Bali is a haven for kids of all ages, and my preschoolers are no exception.
The water park features a dedicated area for younger children, with shallow pools, mini slides, and water cannons. The Funtastic area, as it’s aptly named, became my kids’ favourite spot.
Located next door is the Kiddy Slides, another source of fun for my 4-year-old.
For all of us, the Lazy River provided a perfect blend of relaxation and fun, while the various pools and lagoons throughout the park were suitable spots for a splash.
Bouncing on the Euro Bungy and watching the shows at FlowRider were also highlights for my younger kids.
For those a bit older or more adventurous, there are a plethora of slides and rides that range from gentle to thrilling.
At all times, what stands out is the park’s attention to safety. Lifeguards are present at every corner, and the staff are vigilant. Kids’ swim vests are available throughout the park for free use, too!
New Kids Area at Waterbom Bali
In August 2024, Waterbom Bali is opening a new 1-hectare kids area, featuring a 15-metre-high water playground with over 40 fun features, including five slides and interactive water elements.
There are dedicated splash zones for toddlers, relaxation areas for parents, and a new open-air family restaurant with 120 seats. The revamped facilities include upgraded amenities like lockers and a mini first aid centre.
Family-Friendly Facilities
Waterbom Bali caters well to families. The park provides changing rooms, showers, and Gazebo hire, making it easy to manage the needs of young children.
Unfortunately, we have trouble finding a baby change table so I use a shaded grassy area to change my 2-year-old’s nappy on a towel.
We find the restrooms to be clean and well-maintained, a crucial aspect when spending an entire day in a water park!
The park also offers plenty of shaded areas and seating, ensuring you can find a spot to relax and watch your kids have fun.
Why Gazebo Hire is a Must
Hiring a gazebo at Waterbom Bali was one of the best decisions we made. These cosy, shaded spots provide a perfect base for families.
Our gazebo is equipped with comfortable seating, a safe to store belongings, and even a fan to keep us cool. It is the ideal place for our kids to rest between rides, and it offers a touch of luxury and convenience for the whole family.
The gazebo also served as a secure spot to store our belongings, eliminating the need for lockers. It’s a small indulgence that adds immense value to your day, especially when travelling with young children who may need frequent breaks.
If you miss out on Gazebo Hire, you can book a locker to store your belongings and find a sun lounge or two to set yourselves up at for the day. Towel hire is available, too.
Cashless Payment System
Waterbom Bali operates on a cashless payment system.
Upon entry, you receive a wristband with your chosen amount of credit, which you can top up as needed. This makes transactions within the park seamless and hassle-free. No need to carry a wallet, phone or credit card around!
Any credit remaining on the card at the end of the day is reimbursed in cash (rupiah).
Entertainment for All Ages
While the kids are happy in the Funtastic area, the adults take turns exploring some of the more adventurous rides.
The Climax and Boomerang slides offered thrilling experiences, while the while I couldn’t bring myself to face The Drop, or Fast N Fierce.
It’s this variety that makes Waterbom Bali stand out among Bali water parks – there truly is something for everyone.
Tips for Visiting Waterbom Bali
New Kids Area: A new kids’ area opened in august 2024 that’s three times the size of the other kid’s playground! Now, Waterbom has even more to offer preschool kids and all ages above.
Book Tickets in Advance: Waterbom Bali tickets can be purchased online, saving you time and often money. This also helps avoid the queues at the entrance, giving you more time to enjoy the park.
Plan Your Day: Arriving early allows you to experience the park before it gets too crowded. Plus, you can take advantage of the cooler morning temperatures.
Bring Essentials: Pack sunscreen, hats, and swimwear. The Balinese sun can be intense, so it’s important to keep everyone protected. Towels are available for rent, but bringing your own can be more convenient.
Stay Hydrated and Nourished: Waterbom Bali has several eateries offering a range of food options, from local dishes to international cuisine. We enjoyed a delicious meal at one of the cafes, which catered well to our kids’ tastes. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Use the Cashless System: Waterbom Bali operates on a cashless payment system. Upon entry, you receive a wristband linked to your chosen amount of credit, which you can top up as needed. This makes transactions within the park seamless and hassle-free.
Rent a Gazebo: If you can, hire a gazebo for the day. It’s a great spot to rest, store your belongings, and have a bit of privacy and comfort.
Check Height Restrictions: Before heading to the rides, check the height restrictions to ensure your kids can go on them. This helps manage expectations and avoid disappointments.
Pack a Change of Clothes: After a day in the water, it’s nice to have dry clothes to change into. The park has well-maintained changing rooms and showers for your convenience.
Bring Water Shoes: The paths can get quite hot under the sun. Water shoes will protect your feet and make walking around the park more comfortable.
Set a Meeting Point: In case you get separated, having a designated meeting spot can help everyone find each other easily.
Water Safety: Lifeguards are present at every corner, and the staff are vigilant. Kids’ swim vests are available throughout the park for free use, and the first aid centre is marked on the visitor map.
