Well this winter Studley Park Boathouse at Studley Park, Kew has exactly that experience waiting for you!

On weekends from Saturday 22 May to January 2023, you can book a private igloo for up to four guests alongside the Yarra River and enjoy a cosy high tea experience package catered by Studley Park Boathouse.
In previous years, the Studley Park igloo experience gave off a winter like design that made you feel as though you were actually in a dome covered in a thin layer of ice. This year however, Studley Park has revamped their igloo experience into an enchanting Winter Paradise with a design that now shows off an elegant garden pod coated in ivy runs and boho inspiration.
We are so excited about this refreshing experience and can’t wait to see it ourselves during our visit this year but just for this post, we will be using photos from our 2021 experience.
A minimum of 2 adults are required per igloo and each adult is $52 per person. The igloos are decked out in comfy chairs, blankets, small tables and lanterns and fake foliage.
The high tea winter igloo experience at Studley Park includes sweet and savoury bites plus unlimited tea and coffee. The scones are particularly large and I like the chunky fruit jam with the serving.
Kids are allowed to order from the cafe’s a la carte menu, including a few kids meal options.
Each booking lasts for a two-hour period with 30-minute breaks in between for their cleaning protocols. However, for $25 per person, you can get the bottomless sparkling and mimosa package which will allow you to stay for an additional hour and thirty minutes and really soak in the views!
After your visit enjoy the rest of Studley Park, with numerous walking and bike paths to explore in a green pocket of Melbourne that’s so close to the city.

As there are only a small number of igloos it’s best to book your igloo ahead of time – weekends are particularly busy.

- High chairs are available, though I don’t see them used inside the igloos and they’re not a great fit;
- There are disabled toilets at the cafe;
- Book a private igloo for 2-6 guests. Igloos are available 7 days per week at all times that the cafe is open.
- Private igloo guests choose from a $49 per person high tea menu;
- Minimum 2 adults per booking;
- Add 1.5hr bottomless sparkling & mimosa package for 25pp;
- Kids can choose to eat from the cafe’s a la carte menu;
