Are you a mum or soon-to-be mum looking for ways to support your changing body and self care?
My body went through so many changes throughout pregnancy and well after giving birth so I know it’s worth investing in a bit of comfort. I discovered that Modibodi maternity wear does so much more than that.
The maternity range includes leak-proof undies, postpartum briefs and breastfeeding tops that are comfortable, sustainable and support the needs of every mum’s changing body.
About the modibodi maternity range
As a breastfeeding mum I found disposable breast pads uncomfortable, not to mention wasteful.
The Modibodi Breastfeeding Cami and Breastfeeding Bra provide practical support for breastfeeding mums without using disposable breast pads. These garments are super comfy with easy to adjust straps, which has been worthwhile as my body inevitably continues to change shape.
I particularly love the nursing singlet as it keeps me warm and I donโt need to wear a bra at the same time as well.
When it comes to Modibodi knickers for mums there are three Modibodi maternity briefs to choose from.
The Light-Moderate Brief offers a medium level of absorbance, while the Maxi-24hrs Brief is great for heavier postpartum flow. Both of these are stretchy with a v-shaped front waistline so they sit nicely under the baby and post-baby bump.
The Modibodi Postpartum Control Brief is high-waisted with firm belly and back support (hallelujah!) and also has a thick lining for heavy bleeding.
Iโve continued using each of these maternity briefs after postpartum just like the other Modbodi reusable period undies because they work well and feel great.
An excellent value option is the Modibodi Maternity Essentials Pack which includes one of each of these products (excluding the Postpartum Control Brief) plus a mesh laundry bag to safely wash them in.

3 reasons to choose Modibodi maternity underwear
I think there are three main reasons I think Modibodi makes some of the best maternity underwear.
Firstly, their maternity underwear successfully controls leaks. Whether itโs bladder leaks, discharge, postpartum bleeding, or leaking breast milk Modibodi underwear has been designed with layers of wonderful built-in protection that help keep you dry and comfortable.
Itโs environmentally friendly and saves you from using disposable products such as breast pads or panty liners.
Every item in the Modibodi maternity range is comfortable. With all the different body challenges happening during pregnancy, my skin was affected too and it became more sensitive. I love material that is natural and feels nice on my skin.

How often will you need to change during postpartum?
Every body and every postpartum experience is different of course, so I can only advise based on my personal experience.
At first, you will probably want to change your maternity underpants every few hours and then less as each day gets lighter. Just as youโve managed your period your entire life, it wonโt take long to learn your postpartum flow and adjust to your needs.
I havenโt had a big problem with leaking breast milk, so I can generally change my breastfeeding singlet or breastfeeding bra daily.

How many pairs will you need
If youโre keen to use Modibodi’s leakproof maternity underwear exclusively, you will probably want to purchase 7+ pairs of the Maxi-24hrs Brief and the Light-Moderate Brief in whatever combination you think will serve you best.
But please donโt be hard on yourself if you use a backup disposable pad or two. Letโs be honest, with a newborn in the house, keeping on top of your washing is not always the highest priority!
For the maternity singlet tops and maternity bra, I found having 3 items (eg one cami and one bra in each of the two colours) was enough to rotate for washing.
I think the best value option is to purchase three of the Modibodi Maternity Essentials Pack then to top up with few extra pairs of the Modibodi maternity briefs.

How to work out your size
Though our bodies are constantly stretching and shrinking throughout this wondrous time, itโs not too hard to find the right fit for your pregnancy undies – the online size guide is accurate and true to size. Modibodi suggests that itโs best to measure yourself during the third trimester to work out which size to go with.
After the first few months you can always purchase the next size down if and as your size changes.
The Breastfeeding Bra and Breastfeeding Cami both have a wonderfully flexible cup which seems to mould well to your shape as well as adjustable straps.
How to wash your Modibodi maternity wear
There are easy care instructions on the label of each garment. You can rinse the Modibodi underwear out in cold water before putting them into a normal washing load, and then hang up to dry.
Note it is important to wash these items before the first wear so they work as intended.
can I purchase from a Modibodi stockist?
Modibodi do have some stockists, but if you purchase directly from their website they offer a 60 day risk free trial for new customers.
So first time customers can buy a pair and try them out, and if they donโt live up to expectations you can return them within the first 60 days.
Most Modibodi items can be exchanged or return if theyโre not right (as long as they have been tried on over underwear). Simply contact customer service with questions about any Modibodi returns.
Shipping for Modibodi orders over $90 is free.

Is there a Modibodi Discount Code?
Modibodi occasionally go on sale, so sign up to their newsletter to be notified.
Also, if you are a new customer and sign up to their newsletter you can get 10% off your first order.
Note that sales don’t tend to apply to bundle packs such as the Modibodi Maternity Essentials Pack as they are already discounted.
