Have you tried period undies? I swear by the underwear by Modibodi Australia and I wear them daily – not just when I’m having my period.
It took me ages to decide whether or not to invest in Modibodi period undies, as cost of a pair were significantly more than the cheapie underwear that I was used to buying.
I only wish that period underwear existed when I was teenager (they have a specific tween/teen range called Modibodi Red).
The Modibodi range has now expanded to Modibodi for men, Modibodi activewear, Modibodi swimwear, Modibodi maternity and even reusable nappies, meaning all members of the family can help make more sustainable choices with their underwear.
NEW FROM MODIBODI
Before diving into the benefits of using period underwear we’d like to share some exciting news about Modibodi.
Modibodi has partnered up with PUMA to launch a range of leak-free period activewear and underwear, created to help women stay comfortable and active during their period whilst making a positive environmental impact. A range of leak-proof period underwear and activewear, to help women stay in sport. The PUMA x Modibodi collaboration allows women to stay active, without having to worry about leaks, while reducing their monthly waste from period products.
What are Modibodi Underwear good for?
Modibodi womens underwear are good for when you have your period, replacing pads and / or tampons. They are also perfect for slight bladder leakage, absorption of sweat when exercising and as a safeguard for those just-in-case days.
Modibodi offers different levels of absorbency โ superlight, light โ moderate, moderate โ heavy and heavy absorbency โ overnight. So there is a pair to suit every situation.
The Modibodi maternity range makes pregnancy a bit more comfortable, absorbing discharge and slight bladder language (sneezing just became a whole lot safer!).
And the Modibodi Red range are a game changer for the younger generation โ being a teenager is hard enough! The difference with RED is that there is more patterns, prints and the sizing is designed for younger women and girls.
MO is their leak proof undies range for men. MO has your manhood covered with more than ordinary underwear. MO is made with high tech fabrics to keep you drier and more comfortable. Pee proof, leak proof and fool proof, they’re changing the ball game!

4 reasons to make the switch to period undies
Why should you make the switch to Modibodi period undies?
Firstly, they make life a bit easier. They are comfortable (with a maximum thickness of 3mm lining). No more carrying around pads and tampons or getting caught out when you get your period and you don’t have any sanitary products with you.
They will save you money โ by switching the brand of underwear you buy, you are saving money on period products that you no longer need to purchase. So while each pair of undies is more than I would normally spend on underwear, it’s offset by the cost saving of not having to buy tampons or pads anymore.
Modibodi period undies arenโt a single use item โ so once you have enough to suit your lifestyle, you donโt need to buy more each month. I have seven pairs because I like to save money by buying the Modibodi bundle packs.
Finally they help reduce waste to landfill, benefiting our environment. So if you made this one new habit for Plastic Free July, it would be a meaningful contribution (or reduction) over time.

How do you wash Modibodi undies?
In the washing machine! Follow the directions on the label โ but basically, you rinse them out in cold water first, then pop them in the machine and hang them up to dry.
Note it is really important to wash them BEFORE the first wear so they work as intended.
Will Modibodi fit me?
Modibodi has designed a range of different styles and sizes to suit just about everyone. Modibodi sizing starts at an 8 and go up to a size 26. Red by Modibodi starts at a youth 8 โ 10 and goes up to a youth 14 โ 16.
The maternity range features an under-the-bump full brief and breastfeeding singlet from sizes 10 โ 18.
I personally find the sizing a bit small because the undies seems to stretch over time, so I wear a size 8 (which start out tight) because I generally size 8-10 clothing.
Do I purchase from a Modibodi stockist?
Modibodi do have a handful of stockists, but purchasing from their website gives you a 60 day risk free trial for new customers.
So first time customers can buy a pair and try them out, and they donโt live up to expectations you can return them within the first 60 days.
Most Modibodi items can be exchanged or return if theyโre not right (as long as they have been tried on over underwear). Simply contact customer service with questions about any Modibodi returns.
Shipping for Modibodi orders over $90 is free.
Modibodi reviews
I’m not the only fan of Modibodi undies! I asked the #TOTSquad on Facebook what they thought about Modibodi undies, and here’s what they said.
Love them, great for a weak pelvic floor too. I feel their sizes are the same as bonds and the quality is good you just need to make sure you wash them correctly. โ Melissa
I love my Modibodis. They are so comfy to wear and easy to clean. Some months I forget I’m even wearing them. When I think back to getting my period in high school and all the problems I went through, I hope these become the norm for young girls. โ Catherine
I love mine. I bought the maternity ones when pregnant with my 1st child & Iโm still wearing them everyday. I read mixed reviews but I find them extremely comfortable & are great for if you have a bit of a weak bladder too. โ Eleisha
I’ve literally just purchased a teen pair for my daughter earlier tonight. She does not yet have her periods but getting ready as some of her friends do. I’ve read only fabulous reviews of this brand. โ Areta
I bought my teen a pack and just one pair for myself. I havenโt worn mine that much, having only one pair but Iโm happy with them. I donโt know where Iโd be without them for my daughter. She has sensory sensitivities and hates pads when she tried them. Modi Bodi have made things simple. โ Rebecca
We are fans here… how much simpler it is for our daughters!!! โ Kate
Modibodi is my regular gym wear for sweat and mild incontinence and have been happy thus far. โ Pamela
Iโve been using them for about 12 months and added bather bottoms to my collection but yet to use. I will be buying them for my daughter when the time comes. โ Diandra
I bought these for my teenage girls after a recommendation from a friend. My girls love them. โ Jacqueline
I have some [and] love them. Have also bought a cheaper brand which weren’t so good. โ Jo Jo
I love their breastfeeding singlets! Theyโre great to wear during the day but especially good for bed. No more fiddly breast pads that shift out of place when you roll over – Kate
I love my
Is there a Modibodi Discount Code?
Modibodi do occasionally go on sale, so I sign up to their newsletter to be notified. Also, if you are a new customer and sign up to their newsletter you can get 10% off your first order.
I also like to buy my Modibodi underwear as a bundle pack as buying in bulk saves me money. Note that sales don’t tend to apply to bundle packs as they are already discounted.
