The inside of Fig and Walnut is dressed like a French chateauโ€™s drawing room, with navy blue panels, olde worlde chandeliers and gilt mirrors, one of which beckons โ€˜Welcomeโ€™.

Out the back is the most adorable courtyard made just for families. Hopscotch tiles lead you to a large wooden cubby house with chalk boards and along one side are raised garden beds with seedlings neatly sprouting.

The menu is split into all day choices and lunch from 11:30am. The options are sophisticated and the pricing is similarly upmarket, though not out of range for Seddonโ€™s burgeoning affluent population.

Thereโ€™s no kids menu specifically but sometimes there are blackboard options. There are numerous high chairs and plenty of pram space outside, though only a single bi-fold door to get to the outdoor area so wide double prams may not be able to move beyond the main room.
