Victoria Hotel Yarraville is the Ultimate Family Friendly Pub

After a refreshing revamp, the Victoria Hotel is serving up the ultimate family-friendly pub experience!

The pub that proudly began serving Yarraville in 1873 has been completely refurbished with a gorgeous new bistro, kids playroom, sports bar, beautiful function rooms and a bottle shop.

Recently, the kids and I were invited to spend a lovely and refreshing afternoon at the pub. Here’s a little look at our time there.

Most of our visit was spent in the kid's playroom – a room separate from the bistro that is designed to be the perfect space for families who want to get out and enjoy a meal while their little ones stay safe, happy and entertained throughout their stay.

The room is divided into two halves. The first half is a soft play area with walls lined by a stunning hand-painted mural of beloved Disney characters from movies like Frozen, The Lion King, 101 Dalmatians and more.

It also features a television, a chalkboard for drawing, an activity and LEGO wall, along with mini tables for colouring-in activities.

The other half is probably better suited to older kids who love gadgets and games as the room is full of them!

On the gaming area side, kids can lounge on a couple of couches and bean bags that are perfect for playing their favourite games on the provided Playstation.

The space also includes classic arcade games such as Pacman and Street Fighter which can be played for free!

To top off the kid-friendly experience the family pub also provides high chairs, disabled toilets and free onsite parking. Every Sunday from 12-3pm there's even live kids entertainment, such as face-painting and balloon twisting.

When it comes to food, Victoria Hotel serves a delectable menu not just for adults but for kids as well!

During our visit, we order a few things off the kid's menu including the beef sliders and stretchy cheesy pizza, all of which is devoured enthusiastically.

The adults graze on various items from the Starters options, including creamy mini lobster rolls, salt and pepper calamari, crispy fried lamb ribs and a fancy cauliflower salad with pomegranate, spinach, picked onion and almonds.

Each of the dishes is generously proportioned and could easily be the main meal for a light eater.

As well as the excellent food the service is fast and friendly (you order food via the app or at the bar), which makes our visit such an easy family-friendly dining experience.

This wonderful family pub can be found at 188 Hyde Street, Yarraville and is open every Monday to Thursday 4pm until late and Friday to Sunday 12pm until late.
