Melbourne is a vibrant city with a rich cultural heritage and a bustling food scene – and if youโre looking for a hotel thatโs located near the cityโs most iconic foodie attraction, look no further than Veriu Hotel Queen Victoria Market.
I purchased a Luxury Escape 2-night stay, and we really enjoyed our Melbourne staycation experience – we wouldnโt hesitate to stay there again!ย

Hotel Veriu Melbourne Queen Victoria Market
Veriu Hotel is a small hotel group with accommodations around Australia. Their Queen Victoria Market hotel offers the ultimate urban escape for visitors and business people seeking a unique and authentic Melbourne experience.

It is literally across the road from Queen Vic Market, and some of the rooms even look out over the Dairy Hall and tree-lined Therry Street, as well as the wider city skyline.

Its prime location at the top end of Melbourneโs CBD offers easy access to the Elizabeth Street trams and Melbourne Central train station, making it the perfect base for exploring everything the city has to offer. Thereโs limited daily car parking for $30 if you need it.

But there’s more to this hotel than just its excellent location.
We find the modern โSuperior Veriu Suiteโ to be stylish and comfortable (we love the little work desk overlooking the city), with a luxurious cushion-topped king-size bed that can be split into two single beds. There are no interconnecting rooms available.

The room also has showers with amenities (no bath) and a fully equipped kitchenette, which is pretty unusual for hotel rooms, particularly in Melbourne CBD.

A highlight for us is the heated, moderately-sized indoor pool on the fifth floor, offering stunning views of the surrounding city buildings. Thereโs also a small, but windowless, gym but no spa or sauna. We visit the pool around breakfast time and in the late afternoon during the school holidays and have the pool to ourselves (itโs open 7 am to 11 pm daily). Pool towels are available at the swimming pool entrance.

In addition, thereโs free wifi throughout the hotel, access to Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime, 24-hour reception, and cosy work nooks in the reception area.
Being such a small hotel, thereโs no restaurant on site. Hence room service is really just a roll call of vending machines-style snacks brought up to your room eg cookies, chips, and nuts. Reception does have a bar with happy hour drinks daily.

Not having an onsite restaurant doesnโt pose a problem for us, though.
If you can, I recommend timing your stay to match Queen Victoria Marketโs opening days (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) so you can take advantage of the amazing produce and dining options for breakfast and lunch and simply toddle back to your room once youโre full.

Also, the Queen Vic Night Markets are open most Wednesday nights, and there are a plethora of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. I reckon youโll actually find it hard to choose where to go! We highly recommend Morpha and Ichigo for elevated Asian-inspired brunch options.

Veriu Hotel Queen Victoria Market has everything you need for an unforgettable staycation or visit to Melbourne. Stylish and comfortable rooms, a pool, friendly service and an excellent location – you couldnโt ask for better!
