This stylish yet family-friendly hotel in Clayton offers comfort, convenience, and little luxuries that make travelling with kids a whole lot easier.

We stayed in 2025 with 2 adults and 3 kids aged 12, 10 and 7, across two adjoining roomsโ€”and hereโ€™s everything we found.

PARKROYAL: Perfectly Located for Family Convenience

The hotel sits right in the heart of the Clayton Monash precinct, inside the M-City complex. That means supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, a cinema, and even a medical centre are just downstairs.

Handy Location for Appointments and Events

If you’re in town for hospital visits, uni events, or work, this is one of the most practical options for families. Heading to Monash University or Monash Health? Youโ€™re minutes away on foot. Itโ€™s easy to pop out for an appointment and be back in time for nap time.

Itโ€™s also one of the closest full-service options to Clayton Victoria and the broader Monash City areaโ€”ideal if you’re after modern, comfy, and family-focused accommodation.

We stayed in two adjoining rooms: one with a Super King bed and a trundle, the other with two King singles. It was very comfortable for our group of five.

Each room had a fridge, microwave, kettle and a desk. Baby and toddler items, like a cot and high chair, are available on request.

Cleanliness was excellent, and there was enough storage for luggage and prams.

Note with our room arrangement there wasn’t a common lounge areas to hang out, and it felt like the hotel does lean more toward a business clienteleโ€”but staff were friendly and welcoming toward families.

The Outdoor Pool

If youโ€™re comparing Monash accommodation options, a hotel with a pool is always a winner. The pool at PARKROYAL is the perfect solution is large and cleanโ€”so you can relax while the kids splash around.

Note that it’s shared pool with other building occupants and not quite as convenient as expected. It wasnโ€™t heated during our stay, and you need to walk about 5 minutes from the hotel via the shopping centre.

The pool is up to 1.5m deep. Itโ€™s still a fun option for older kids who can swim confidently, but not ideal for toddlers.

A Gym for Grown-Ups (Or Teens Who Want to Tag Along)

If you like to keep active while you travel, the gym here is a nice bonus. Youโ€™ll find treadmills, bikes, and all the basics you need to sneak in a workout while someone else takes the kids to breakfast.

Older kids and teens who enjoy fitness can come along, too.

Meals Made Easy: Where to Eat at PARKROYAL Monash

Got a fussy eater or a hangry toddler? Youโ€™ll love not having to jump in the car for every meal. Staying at PARKROYAL means you’ve got a bunch of family-friendly places to eat close by.ย

The onsite restaurant Ginger is the most convenient option. The buffet breakfast included pancakes, waffles, pastries, cereal and fruitโ€”very kid-friendly.

Dinner is ร  la carte and we found enough on the menu to suit everyone’s palate. During school holidays they offer a chocolate fondue on the menu!

Want pizza, sushi, noodles, or burgers? It’s all downstairs at M-City. We ate at the dumpling restaurant, which was great.

You can also pick up groceries at Woolies if youโ€™d rather whip up a simple dinner with snacks in the room.

Thereโ€™s ample parking on-site. Youโ€™ll find lifts to every level (handy if youโ€™ve got a pram), plus reliable WiFi, room service, and 24/7 reception.

The hotel is pram- and wheelchair-accessible. Daily housekeeping was available and handled family mess very well. We also appreciated the late checkout and extra towels for the pool.
