Enjoy a Stress-Free Trip When You Fly: Book a Stay Novotel Melbourne Airport

Letโ€™s face itโ€”travelling with kids can feel chaotic at the best of times.

If you’re flying in or out of Melbourne Airport with kids, booking an overnight stay at Novotel ibis Styles Melbourne Airport will make the whole experience feel smoother and a lot less stressful.

Got an early morning flight? No more trekking to the airport before dawn – the hotel is just a short walk away from the terminals.

Arriving into Melbourne Airport late at night? Prolong the holiday vibes for a little bit longer! Stay overnight at the hotel so youโ€™re not getting home in the middle of the night after a long flight.

We take advantage of Novotel Melbourne Airportโ€™s comfortable rooms, indoor heated pool, delicious Italian food before.an early morning domestic flight. It really made our airport experience so much calmer and enjoyable.

Easy Access to Melbourne Airport

If youโ€™ve ever had to wake up at 4am for a flight, youโ€™ll love this: Novotel Melbourne Airport is connected to Melbourne Airport by a covered walkway.

Just step outside the lobby and stroll across to check in at Terminal 4. No bus, no waiting, no panic.

Flying Jetstar, Qantas or Virgin? Domestic check-ins are about 10 minute walk away. International departures are just as close.

Or if you are hauling a lot of luggage and people, book a hotel shuttle to drop you and your luggage off at Terminal 2.

Novotel Melbourne Airport is the best family hotel near Melbourne Airport for early or late flights, especially if youโ€™re travelling with kids and carry-ons. Itโ€™s convenient airport accommodation that still feels like a mini getaway!

Family-Friendly Rooms with Space to Relax

Novotel Melbourne Airport is designed with families in mind.

Travelling with kids means you need spaceโ€”and the hotel delivers.

Family rooms are light-filled and modern with options for adjoining rooms or extra bedding if you’re a larger crew. Need a trundle bed or cot? Just ask.

Expect cloud-soft beds, thick block-out curtains, and soundproof windowsโ€”because everyone sleeps better when you canโ€™t hear the planes flying.

As there were only two of us flying out of Melbourne Airport during our stay, we are booked into a Deluxe Room setup with two Super King beds.

All rooms come with:

  • Free high-speed Wi-Fi
  • 55-inch smart TVs (perfect for cartoon marathons)
  • Tea and coffee station
  • Spacious bathroom with amenities
  • Work desk and chairs/stools

Indoor Heated Pool + Sauna = Travel Day Win

Got a few hours to kill? Pack the bathers.

The hotelโ€™s wellness sanctuary Higher State is tucked just behind reception. Itโ€™s the perfect place for families wanting a peaceful unwind and itโ€™s free for Novotel hotel guests.

Itโ€™s calm, modern, and feels a bit like a spaโ€”but itโ€™s also completely ok to have kids splashing happily in the large indoor heated pool.

If youโ€™re travelling with other adults, sneak in an infrared sauna session (must be 18 years and over) or quick workout in the fully equipped gym (must be 16 years and over), while kids swim and shake off any jet lag (or boredom).

Delicious Food Without Leaving the Hotel

After a long day, nobody wants to go hunting for dinner.

Luckily, Novotel Melbourne Airport has not one but three spots to eat and drink.

Novotel Melbourne Airport

Boccata Restaurant + Wine Bar

Boccata is the hotelโ€™s main restaurant, and itโ€™s made for relaxed Italian-style dining.

Think handmade pasta, woodfired pizzas, risotto and local produce and wine served with care. We try the focaccia, tuna carpaccio, trofie pasta with prawns, baked conchigle with vodka sauce and straciatella and finish off with a decadent chocolate torta and fior di latte soft serve.

Everything tastes fresh, well-balanced and authentic – and is served speedily. Iโ€™m very impressed with the restaurant, given that they could choose to cut corners with a captive audience at the hotel. The restaurant wouldnโ€™t be out of place in Melbourneโ€™s CBD and is the kind of place Iโ€™d be happy to eat even if I wasnโ€™t staying in the hotel!

The casual but stylish vibe is fancy enough for a grown-up meal, but kids are welcomed with open arms – plus high chairs, a lucky dip of toys and kid-friendly meals for $16.

Boccata

You can also treat yourself to Boccataโ€™s gourmet experience without leaving your room – the room service menu can be ordered via QR code.

In the mornings, Boccata serves a buffet breakfast from 5:30am each morning with barista coffee, eggs your way, pastries and fresh fruit.

Amber State Taphouse and Kitchen

In the same complex is Amber State, which is more of a laid-back pub. The venueโ€™s menu highlights hearty options, while the bar features a rotating selection of locally brewed craft beers.

Small Holdings

This charming artisan bakery and cafe boasts comfy seating, ST. ALi Coffee and small bites from local producers. Perfect if you just need a relaxed meal or a snack, itโ€™s open until 3pm daily.
