Myer Christmas LEGO Playland 2026 โ€“ A Festive, Brick-Filled Adventure for Families

Stepping onto Bourke Street at Christmas is always magical, but this year Myer Melbourne takes it to the next level. The iconic Myer Christmas Windows are entirely LEGO-themed, bursting with colour, characters and nostalgia. My two kids press their noses to the glass, completely absorbed, and I love that the joy is instant and ageless. But the real treat comes when we head inside to the free Christmas LEGO Playland on the basement level.

Visit the Christmas LEGO Playland at Myer Melbourne

We follow the crowds down the escalators into The Basement, where the free LEGO Christmas Playland is buzzing with excitement. Itโ€™s running from now right through to Christmas Eve, and it feels like a secret underground Christmas playground for LEGO-loving families.

The space is bright, open, and cleverly themed with Christmas scenes made entirely of bricks. There are hands-on build zones, games, and photo spots that stop every parent in their tracks.

My kids make a beeline for the enormous Santa Sleigh, and suddenly Iโ€™m roped into taking twenty photos from every angle. We also wander into โ€œSantaโ€™s Living Room,โ€ another adorable brick-themed setup, and that becomes our next mini photoshoot.

Thereโ€™s even a DUPLO play area for the little ones.

The Exclusive Make & Take

One of the biggest drawcards is the limited-edition LEGO Christmas Kangaroo Make & Takeโ€”an adorable festive build you can only get at Myer Melbourne and nowhere else in the world.

Itโ€™s one per person, and the line is long. The Holiday Kangaroo build is recommended for ages 6+, has 54 pieces and comes with instructions. It can be hung on your Christmas tree!

The Exclusive Make & Take

Hands-On Play Everywhere

The whole area invites kids to dive in and get building. One table is set up with LEGO ornament piecesโ€”very LEGO DOTS-styleโ€”and the kids proudly create decorations to hang on the giant community Christmas tree.

Another corner has simple games perfect for younger builders.

Donโ€™t Miss the LEGO Santa and Reindeer

Before we leave, we wander into the main store and look up. Suspended across multiple floors is an enormous LEGO Santa and Reindeer installation. Itโ€™s impossible not to stop and stareโ€”itโ€™s whimsical, impressive, and the kids think it looks โ€œlike itโ€™s actually flying.โ€

More LEGO Magic: Light Show & More

The LEGO takeover continues outside at night with the Myer Christmas Light Show, projected across the Bourke Street faรงade. From sundown, the building transforms with sound, animation and cheeky LEGO minifigures. It runs until 11 pm every night until 25 December 2025, and the whole show lasts just over six minutesโ€”perfect for families squeezing in a quick visit before bedtime.

Between the Myer Christmas Windows, the Basement LEGO Playland, the traditional Myer Santaland and the Light Show, Myer Melbourne is offering a complete Christmas experience thatโ€™s fun, free, and festive. Itโ€™s easy enough to fill a whole city outing with kids.

A LEGO Heart for Good

While weโ€™re exploring, staff remind us about LEGOโ€™s Build to Give initiative, running from until 31 December 2025. Kids (and adults!) can build a LEGO heart at home or onsite, snap a photo, and share it using #BuildToGive.

Each shared heart helps LEGO donate sets to children in need around the world. It’s a lovely way to add meaning to all the holiday fun.
