2. Brunswick Baths, Brunswick

Brunswick Baths has a heated, 20 metre, five-lane lap and recreation pool for lap swimmers, water workout classes and swimming lessons. The main pool is an Olympic-sized pool available for water exercise, recreational play, lap swimming, aquatic group fitness classes and user group programs. It has eight lanes and an adjustable boom to facilitate two 25-metre pool areas.

The warm water pool is for aquatic programs including exercise and rehabilitation. The leisure and Swim School pool is for swimming lessons and having fun in the water.

Visit La Trobe University Sports Centre for a 25 metre heated indoor pool with exceptional water quality. There is also a deep water pit, cargo net and Tarzan rope.

Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) has a heated 10-lane 50-metre indoor pool. This pool operates as a 25m/20 lane or 50m/10 lane pool at various times of the day. There is also a learn-to-swim pool, beach entry / wading pool, toddlers pool and one of the largest warm water exercise pools in Victoria (for 16 and over).

If you’re looking for indoor water parks, PARC doesn’t disappoint. Water play facilities include a multi-level structure with slides for every age. Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre is a huge facility with awesome pools. There’s an outdoor 50m pool, an indoor 25m pool, an indoor wave pool, a warm water exercise pool and indoor toddler play pools.

Knox LeisureWorks has four indoor heated swimming pools, a spa, and the iconic frog slide – all making for splashy fun for toddlers to lap swimmers.

There is also a 25-metre outdoor pool open from 1 December to 31 March (if over 28 degrees).

**The outdoor aquatic area at Knox Leisureworks (KLW) will remain closed for the 2023/24 Summer Season. An independent audit has been completed and has deemed the outdoor aquatic infrastructure to be not-operational due to significant structural issues. The Ascot Vale Leisure Centre has a 25-metre Lap and Recreation Pool, Toddlers Pool, Water Play Area, Hydrotherapy (warm water) pool, and Aquatic Education Learn-to-Swim Pool.

At AquaPulse Hoppers Crossing there’s a 50-metre pool, 25-metre pool, warm water pool with recovery and spa zones. And the real highlights: a leisure pool with a feature tower, slides and numerous other fun features, and two water slides (height and age requirements apply).

Sunshine Leisure Centre has indoor and outdoor heated 25 metre lap pools, 20 metre program pool with ramp entry, an indoor leisure pool, an outdoor splash pad and a spa and steam room.

Casual swim entry for an adult is $7.50, children are $5.60 and a family is $19.60.

Visit Melton Waves Leisure Centre and swim in the 25-metre indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool-spa, and toddlers pool. It’s the only place to find a wave pool in Melbourne’s west and rapid river feature.

53. Victoria University pool, Footscray

VU’s Footscray Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre is located at Building L, Level 0, Footscray Park Campus. It’s normally very quiet and calm, with sweeping views of the Maribyrnong River.

It’s open to the public and you can visit the 25-metre heated swimming pool as well as other gym and teaching rooms.

VU Sport offers Learn to Swim classes for babies, children and adults as well as school holiday sports programs for school-aged children.

Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre is a state-of-the-art multi-million dollar unique health and wellbeing hub with awesome facilities such as an Olympic-sized pool, two massive water slides, an indoor pool playground for kids, a warm water pool, a learn-to-swim pool, an onsite creche and cafe.
