HOT: Broadwater Parklands, Southport
The Southport parklands, known as Broadwater Parklands, is a fantastic redevelopment of Southport’s previously dowdy foreshore with a range of sites and facilities, many of them free.

Broadwater Park contains one of the best playgrounds Gold Coast has to offer, as well as being one of the best places for the family on the Gold Coast!

Our favourite part of the Southport playground is the Rockpools, a semi-fenced water play area featuring water jets, fountains, a waterfall and sculptural pieces inspired by marine life.

The Southport rock pools are manned by lifeguards and there are shady spots dotted around the (fake) grass so you can relax at ‘home base’ before another swim.

Another popular attraction in one of the best Gold Coast playgrounds is the pedal train and flying fox, the bike/scooter/skate track and obstacle course and a fenced, shaded bouncy pillow!

Southport Broadwater Parklands also features patrolled shallow beach lagoon and a temporary inflatable water playground called Aquasplash. Fees are payable to enter that space.

Add to that numerous picnic tables and BBQs to the Broadwater Parklands playground and Broadwater Southport is the perfect destination for a day out. There’s also free wifi!
The Southport Broadwater also hosts family-friendly events throughout the year. View the Broadwater Parklands calendar of events.
