Born or Built? Our Robotic Future at Scienceworks

Get excited for Born or Built? Our Robotic Future at Scienceworks, a new temporary exhibit opening on Saturday 3 April 2021.

Born or Built Scienceworks

Born or Built? is a touring exhibition by Questacon (one of the absolute best things to do in Canberra) so it’s fantastically interactive as well as providing lots of interesting talking points and knowledge for kids and adults).

Born or Built Scienceworks

Born or Built? explores the similarities and differences between humans and machines, and considers challenging ethical and moral questions about the future of robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our lives, both as individuals and a society.

Born or Built Scienceworks

In Born or Built? you will be able to chat with a robot, come face to face with robotic faces and explore modern robotics and AI and look at prosthetics and the medical technology that allows us to live more able, healthier and longer lives.

There are lots of hands on displays and opportunities for learning through play in the exhibition, including a fascinating opportunity to manipulate a simulated DNA sequence and observe the outcomes in the kind of human that results.

We spend a lot of time at the screens discussing ethical issues relating to the use of technology in our lives.

Born or Built Scienceworks

Robots, machines and artificial intelligence are a subject of fascination for little kids right up to adults, so there will be something to engage everyone at Born or Built?

Born or Built Scienceworks

Born or Built? costs between $10 and $12 on top of standard entry or members entry to Scienceworks.  It is going to be a popular exhibition, so if you want to visit at a peak time (school holidays) I’d suggest you book ahead.
