The worlds largest inflatable theme park is headed back to Melbourne!
The Big Bounce is going to open for a limited time in Flemington Racecourse on 28-30 January, and 4 – 6 Febuary 2022.
Based on our last visit in 2019 it’s going to be epic!
The inflatable theme park is not just for kids – it caters for the big kid in ALL of us. I think it’s particularly suited for kids 8+ years who do not require constant adult supervision, as the area is large and if you’re with more than one child it’s hard to keep track of where everyone is! With older kids you can set up a home base (in the shade) while the kids play.
Also, while the sessions are split into age groups if you have any children 7 years and under then everyone will need to attend the 8+ years session. You may find that the younger members of your group becomes overwhelmed or gets bowled over by older, more boisterous kids.
The Big Bounce is split into three zones. The first is the huge 1500 sqm bounce house jumping castle, certified by Guinness World Records as the largest in the world!
Groups can enter at one of the entry times nominated at the time of booking your Big Bounce ticket.
Each bounce house session is 45 minutes long and it’s one big bouncy party! The jumping castle includes mazes, ball pits, climbing towers and slides – plus there’s a DJ playing tracks, running competitions and general mayhem with confetti blasts, balls and bubbles!
There kids’ favourite is the obstacle course named The Giant with 50 different hurdles to pass over 300 metres of inflatables.
The kids race their friends through it over and over again and are happily exhausted!
AirSPACE is a space-themed play zone with a tall set of slides that you go down on hessian mats…
…an easy maze…
…and a huge inflatable structure containing a ball pit.
Tickets are valid for a three-hour pass, which includes a timed session on the Bounce House an unlimited time on The Giant and airSPACE. It’s suggested that you turn up at least 15 minutes before the start of your session so that you can make the most of your time.
There are a few food trucks and a bar on-site, though you’re welcome to BYO food. Definitely BYO refillable water bottle as all that jumping is thirsty work!
Note that The Big Bounce sessions are not cancelled if there’s a bit of rain (and they do suggest you might need a change of clothes if the weather isn’t great), but in the case of more extreme weather conditions, sessions may be cancelled. Everyone needs to wear socks so don’t wear your best white socks as you’ll be walking around in a dirty/grassy field in them.
If you are travelling in 2020, The Big Bounce will be in Sydney between 24 January and 9 February, Adelaide between 14 February and 1 March, Brisbane between March 6 – 22, Perth between April 3 – 19.
