Ever dreamt of flying? Now anyone from age 3 to 103 years will be able to experience the thrill of indoor skydiving at iFLY Melbourne!
At iFLY ย you can soar like a bird in the first 14ft (3.65m) diameter iFLY wind tunnel to be built in Melbourneย in Essendon Fields.
iFLY Melbourne welcomes flyers of all abilities as they offer a safe, fun and overall awesome experience flying with highly trained instructors. There’s even wheelchair access for those with mobility issues and an All Abilities program for people with physical or cognitive challenges.

Each session lasts for about 90 minutes. You have to fill out a flight waiver when you check in (to save time, do it online before your arrival), then an instructor will cover flying basics during an orientation session with a short video.
It’s good to remember the different hand signals so you know when to straighten your legs, bend your legs, look up and relax!

Each flyer in a group flies two times for approximately 60 seconds at a time.
While that may not sound long it’s actually enough time to do a bit of practice each time. Also, the pressure of the strong wind can make your muscles ache a little afterwards and the wind is very loud. The wind speed is adjustable depending on your weight and flying experience.
On our first go we just get used to the sensation of floating on air and keeping our bodies in the right position. On our second go the instructor whips us up and down the wind tunnel while holding onto our flight suits.
This can be quite frightening, especially for little kidsย – the feeling of going up is a lot of fun but the feeling of coming down really does feel like you’re rushing down a speedy rollercoaster! It’s still fine for people (like me) who are afraid of heights but I do feel like I’m happy to have experienced it without necessarily wanting to go up and down again!
