Wackadoo! If your kids canโt get enough of Bluey, get ready โ the Heelers are heading to the bush!
For four fun-filled days this Melbourne Cup weekend (Saturday 1 November – Tuesday 4 November 2025), families can catch Bluey and Bingo live at Healesville Sanctuary in an all-new interactive stage show.
Itโs the perfect excuse for a day out surrounded by nature, fresh air, and some of Australiaโs most loved animals.

When and Where You Can See Bluey
From Saturday 1 November to Tuesday 4 November 2025, Bluey will star in a brand-new Live Interactive Experience at Healesville Sanctuary.
The shows run on the Koala Picnic Lawns at:
- 10:30am
- 11:15am
- 12:00pm
- 12:45pm
Each session runs for about 20 minutes and is free with your Healesville Sanctuary entry ticket. Even better? Kids under 16 get free entry on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
Bookings arenโt needed, but make sure to arrive early because itโs first-come, first-served. Bring a picnic rug and settle in for some family fun on the grass.

What to Expect at the Bluey Live Show
If youโve been to see Bluey at Melbourne Zoo or Werribee Open Range Zoo, youโll know just how much fun these shows are. This oneโs even better.
The new Healesville Sanctuary show features interactive games and sing-along moments thatโll have everyone โ big and small โ joining in. Expect plenty of chances for the kids to shout out, giggle, and play their favourite Bluey games.
Itโs short, sweet, and designed to keep even the littlest fans entertained.

Our Experience of the Bluey Live show
On our visit both the kids and grownups love the show! It’s a good idea to get there early to grab a nice viewing spot, as there are so many people on the lawn hoping to see the show.
The show is very interactive – we have fun playing Copycat, Keepy Uppy and Musical Statues. I highly recommend you plan sun protection, as there is little shade on the lawn. Also pack a picnic blanket or rug for the grass.
Don’t forget to practise your please face for the magic asparagus!

Make a Full Day of It
Once the showโs over, donโt rush home. Thereโs loads to see and do around Healesville Sanctuary.
Meet Aussie Animals Up Close
You can:
- Watch eagles and parrots soar overhead in the Spirits of the Sky show.
- Head to the World of Platypus to spot one of Australiaโs most curious creatures.
- Visit the Wildlife Health Centre to peek behind the scenes at the vets caring for injured native animals.
Splash and Play by the Creek
Let the kids cool off at the Creek Play zones along Coranderrk Creek.
These play areas are inspired by the Wurundjeri seasons. Thereโs Iuk/Eok (Eel season) in March and Poorneet (Tadpole season) during September and October.
Poorneet is perfect for little ones under five, with pebbled shallows and gentle pools where they can paddle and play safely.
Pack a towel and a spare set of clothes โ theyโll definitely get wet!
Adventure Playgrounds for All Ages
Healesville Sanctuary has some seriously good playgrounds for adventurous kids.
At Bungil Nature Play, youโll find:
- A giant sandpit
- Natural climbing elements
- Shady spots for parents to relax with a coffee from nearby Harvest Cafรฉ
Near the Reptile House, the Banksia Grove Playground has:
- A large wooden deck overlooking a peaceful billabong
- Plenty of space to play and explore
Both playgrounds are great spots to burn off energy before heading home.
Where to Eat
Families can refuel at Harvest Cafรฉ, which serves sandwiches, salads, hot food, and great coffee. Youโll also find snacks and drinks at smaller outlets throughout the Sanctuary.
If you prefer to bring your own, there are picnic tables and grassy areas where you can spread out a blanket. The Koala Picnic Lawns (where Bluey performs) are a top choice for families.
Planning Your Visit
Healesville Sanctuary is open 9am to 5pm every day, including public holidays.
Getting There
Youโll find it on Badger Creek Road, Healesville, about a 90-minute drive from Melbourne.
