Scoopy Milk Bar Dishes Out Bingsu In Footscray

Scoopy Milk Bar is a Melbourne dessert store that introduced Melburnians to the wonders of ‘bingsu’ – a Korean shaved ice dessert – back in 2018 through various pop ups and then their permanent store in Guildford Lane, Melbourne CBD.

Now Melburnians also can pick up all of Scoopy’s bingsu flavours from the Scoopy Kitchen in West Footscray!

The Scoopy Kitchen is open for pick up for customers from 4pm to 8pm on Thursdays to Saturdays. You need to preorder via their online store and select a pick up time, then you receive a SMS when your order is ready as each order is shaved fresh and made to order.

The Scoopy Kitchen is in an industrial part of West Footscray that looks a bit derelict, so look out for the well lit, open garage door. A friendly staff member will then come out and hand you your order.

If you can’t or don’t want to pick up, you can still indulge in Scoopy Milk Bar‘s bingsu via delivery from most delivery platforms. Deliveries are leaving Scoopy Milk Bar‘s Melbourne CBD store as well as the Scoopy Kitchen in West Footscray.

Scoopy Milk Bar‘s bingsu flavours are what I’d call modern rather than traditional, with biscoff, Pocky and chocolate soil all making an appearance. All bingsu come with a drool-inducing list of exciting toppings, whipped cream, flaked almonds and condensed milk.

When you order takeaway bingsu each dish comes with the container of snowy shaved ice and a couple of miniature plastic pots of various ingredients, which means you have to build it yourself at home.

We try the Royal Taro Bingsu with rainbow jelly, tapioca pearls, blueberry popping pearls and mochi, the Dusky Dream Bingsu with Mörk Chocolate bingsu, chocolate soil, banana, strawberry, strawberry popping pearls and almond chocolate Peppero and the Berry Peak Bingsu of Strawberry bingsu with fresh strawberry, biscoff biscuits, strawberry popping pearls and strawberry mochi.

Note that all bingsu are vegetarian and can be made gluten free upon request.

Our amateur presentation is the opposite of ‘Instagrammable’ (plus the ice melts FAST) so hence no photos of our constructions. So while your bingsu at home may not look like their menu’s pictures, I can assure you that the culinary experience is still absolutely sensational.

So many flavours, so many textures and that sub-zero cold tingle on your tongue in every mouthful! Dare I say it – could it be BETTER THAN ICE CREAM??

If you’re a regular Scoopy Milk Bar fan then you can rinse out your bingsu containers and return them back to the Scoopy Kitchen (or their CBD store) to be recycled as part of the Scoopy For the Future: Buy Back Program. Doing so helps the environment AND you score 15% off your next order! Note you can recycle the small plastic containers as they are considered a ‘hard plastic’ and are able to be recycled at home.
