[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you’re looking for a break from the bustle of Sydney Road, take a turn into Albion Street and look out for Rogue District, a cafe that’s taken over a heritage-listed bluestone house and the former Jellystone cafe.
Just inside the gate is the front courtyard with shaded tables then push open the narrow door to admire the counter filled with loads of homemade goodies.
Further inside is a cosy rabbit warren of small and shared tables dotted with parents, students and workmates finding their nooks by the open fireplace or peeping from behind beautiful leadlight windows.
There’s a shaded courtyard at the back but note you can’t access the adjoining park/playground directly from the courtyard.
Rogue District’s menu has a Korean/Asian bent to it thanks to a Korean chef and the items are reasonably priced.

We try the soft-shell crab burger with fancy charcoal brioche bread. I practically have to fight Baby 2.0 for it thanks to the crunchy saltiness of the crab and the slathers of sauce.
On the sweet side we try the sticky date hotcakes finished with grilled banana, a pretzel crumble, DIY pour salted caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream.
Afterwards we head to the spacious playground at Warr Park, where there is equipment for little as well as big kids and some natural shady trees on the fringe.
