HOT: Riverside Green playground, Brisbane

riverside green south bank

Riverside Green is a large adventure playground in Brisbaneโ€™s South Bank and itโ€™s a cracker if your kids are confident climbers.

The vibrant pink, green and blue colour scheme is inspired by South Bankโ€™s โ€˜Grand Arbourโ€™ of blooming bougainvillea and the play area is split up into four play environments.

The โ€˜adventure zoneโ€™ contains the most eye-catching structure, a very high โ€˜skywalkโ€™ with rope nets, bridges and multiple slides.

Itโ€™s billed at being suitable for 5+ years but 3yo Baby 2.0 takesย it on as a challenge and loves it so much he demands to repeat the experience immediately.

One of the more unusual pieces of play equipment is the wooden mouse wheel. Itโ€™s supposed to be for 6+ years with a maximum of 4 children on it at a time.

It inspires hysterical laughter from Baby 2.0 and Lady AB until they get crushed by falling bodies. A fun piece of equipment but also an accident waiting to happenโ€ฆ.

Other equipment in the โ€˜moving and swingingโ€™ zone includes a supernova and 3m high swing set.

Little kids are catered for in the pirate ship area with small slides, rope climbs and swings.

Next to Riverside Green are picnic tables and barbecues, a huge grassed area and city views.

The play equipment and picnic tables are even lit during the evenings so you can enjoy a relaxed BBQ dinner with city views while the kids play!
