Get lost in your imagination in the fairytale castle playground at Phoenix Park in Malvern East!

Phoenix Park Adventure Playground is an outstanding fortress-style playground in Malvern East/Chadstone. It which was designed by local schoolchildren and built by 600 members of the local community in 1998 over six days.

The playground is a built like a medieval castle and is almost wholly made of wood. There are towers, turrets, hidey holes, slides, monkey bars, flying foxes, several swing sets and a plethora of sensory play items like musical charms and steering wheels. Thereโ€™s something to amuse babies right through to older kids.

The area has a wooden fence with only one exit, so you can monitor kids who decide to run away. I liked how each fence paling had the names of volunteers etched on it.

The playground is partially covered with a shade sail on one corner, but there are also lots of nooks which are shady and cool.
