Morris and Heath is a standout cafe in Hoppers Crossing. It’s an unexpectedly city-slick offering within the Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre.
In 2017 it won best cafe design at the Eat Drink Design awards with a fit-out by Ritz & Ghougassian. The sunny corner space is filled top to bottom with spotted gum timber panelling with a polished concrete floor.
The food and coffee is similarly boutique and upscale, a far cry from a shopping centre food court of chain stores.

My beautifully presented pan-seared salmon comes with fennel, a square cube of rösti, beetroot crème fraiche, avocado and shaved radish, plus a perfectly poached egg.
The salmon is perfectly crispy-skinned and I barely get a bite because Baby 2.0 decides he wants it all!
The lemon and poppyseed pancakes are fat and fluffy and oh-so-pretty., with a generous pour of berry coulis, fresh fruit and quenelle of pink-candy-sprinkle marscapone.
Morris and Heath is a welcome addition to an area with not too many good quality cafes.
