Melbourne always knows how to put on a show at Christmas, and just like every year, the city is getting ready to celebrate Christmas in style. There’s no better place to celebrate it than at Melbourne’s Christmas Wonderland, a breathtaking experience filled with tons of entertainment, activities, interactive experiences, thrills, skating, games, food and more.
Melbourne’s Christmas Wonderland is the perfect event for celebrating the festive season and getting into the Christmas spirit!

When is Melbourne’s Christmas Wonderland?
Melbourneโs Christmas Wonderland will run from Friday 28 November until Wednesday 24 December 2025.
Christmas Wonderland Melbourne
Brought to life by The Event Touring Company (who are the creators of the award-winning Sesame Street Circus Spectacular and Jurassic Creatures), Melbourneโs Christmas Wonderland is an immersive, walk-through experience where you see, feel and experience every bit of Christmas brought to life in the most magical way.
The moment you walk through the gates, youโll be swept up in a wonderland of decorations, lights and festive tunes. Every year we go, the kidsโ faces light up as soon as they spot the glittering trees and sparkling garlands.

Upon arrival, you’ll see Santa’s sleigh parked right outside, indicating that youโve arrived at the Christmas Wonderland.
Walk through the spectacular green doors of Santaโs Castle Workshop to be welcomed by the first couple of Christmas, Santa and Mrs Claus.
Along with them, youโll also meet Santa’s trusted team of elves who are hard at work and his group of jolly reindeer such as Dancer, Prancer and everyoneโs favourite, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Meet the Care Bears in Wish Land
This year, the Care Bears are spreading cheer at Melbourneโs Christmas Wonderland! Step into Care Bears Wish Land, a colourful world filled with giant inflatables, an enormous decorated tree, and meet-and-greets with everyoneโs favourite caring crew.

A Spectacular Live Show
Each session includes a live stage show, packed with festive fun. Expect a heartwarming performance starring Santa and Mrs Claus, appearances by the Care Bears, and dazzling international circus acts. The show is always a highlight for us โ part magic, part music, part mayhem โ and it never fails to leave everyone clapping along and grinning from ear to ear.

Say Hello to Santa
Of course, no Christmas outing is complete without meeting the big man in red. Santaโs grotto is beautifully decorated, and the team do a lovely job making each visit feel special.
Weโve always found the Santa photos here to be worth it โ the setting is so magical, and the kids love getting a little Christmas gift on their way out.

Skating, Storytime and Festive Fun
Fancy a whirl around the rink? Lace up your skates and take a spin on the roller-skating rink, a fun way to burn off some excitement. Then, slow things down in Mrs Clausโ Storytelling Village, where little ones can listen to festive tales and sing along to classic carols.
We love how thereโs a perfect balance of high-energy fun and quiet moments. After a few spins on the rink and a bounce on the jumping castles, our kids were happy to settle in for storytime with Mrs Claus.
There are plenty of photo ops scattered throughout the Wonderland too โ from sparkling backdrops to themed selfie spots perfect for capturing those family Christmas memories. Weโve come away with some of our favourite festive photos from this event.

Rudolphโs Barnyard and the North Pole Post Office
Say a friendly โhiโ to Rudolph and his reindeer pals in the animatronic barnyard โ theyโre more than happy to pose for a selfie before their big flight!
Then, make your way to the North Pole Post Office, where kids can write and send their letter to Santa. Our little ones love chatting with the elves, who always seem to know exactly how to help them finish their wish lists.

Meet the Grinch (If You Dare!)
Feeling brave? Head over to Grinch Land to meet the mischievous green grump himself! Itโs a fun photo opportunity (note: paid activity), and one thatโs sure to get a few giggles from the kids. Ours were torn between excitement and nervous laughter โ itโs one of those encounters you donโt forget in a hurry!
Festive Rides, Games and Activities
The fun doesnโt stop there โ with jumping castles, Christmas carnival games (where every child wins a prize), and childrenโs rides including teacups, a mini train and a carousel, thereโs endless entertainment for little adventurers.
Roving performers like Rudolph and the Care Bears will also pop up throughout the day, so keep your eyes peeled โ they love a quick selfie and a festive wave! Itโs these spontaneous moments that make the day feel so full of magic.

Creative Christmas Workshops
Get crafty at The Factory, where kids can decorate their very own foam gingerbread house, or visit the Christmas Craft Village to design a stocking ready for Santaโs arrival. Over in the Care Bears Christmas Village, children can create and paint their own plaster ornament to hang on the tree at home โ weโve still got ours from last year proudly displayed on the mantle.

Food and Refreshments
All that fun is sure to work up an appetite. Luckily, thereโs a range of food and drinks available on site โ from warming festive treats to cool drinks for those sunny December days. We always make time for a snack break โ itโs the perfect excuse to sit back, enjoy the atmosphere and take in all the festive buzz.
