Art lovers in Melbourne have a treat in store: THE LUME Melbourne is back with its record-breaking Van Gogh experience for a limited season—and it comes with an innovative new twist!
This immersive experience now includes Finding Vincent, a world-first virtual reality (VR) journey through Van Gogh’s masterpieces.

THE LUME MELBOURNE – VAN GOGH
For the first time, guests can experience Van Gogh’s iconic works in a VR adventure that blends art with technology.
Finding Vincent lets visitors explore Van Gogh’s world in shared virtual reality. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply curious about Van Gogh’s life, it’s a rare opportunity to experience his work from the inside out.

Perfect for families, friends, and groups, this interactive feature is a highlight of the season.
Of course, THE LUME’s beloved Van Gogh attractions also make their return, allowing visitors to reconnect with their favourite parts of the experience.

Be surrounded by his glorious Starry Night while indulging in the flavours of 19th century France at the Terrace Café 1888. Curated tastes, evocative aromas and a stirring choreographed soundscape weave thrilling new dimensions to this multi-sensory experience.
The gallery also includes an infinity room, a 360 degree interactive cylinder room, an artist’s studio to unleash your creativity and a life-size recreation of Van Gogh’s bedroom for selfie enthusiasts.

The founder of Grande Exhibitions, Bruce Peterson, is a former high school teacher. Peterson wants education to be at the forefront of The Lume, with every brushstroke coming to life and a dedicated space for school groups.

The Lume also gives younger, lesser-known artists the opportunity to feature their digital works in this space.

If your kids are like mine, they want to experience art with more than just their eyes! And they find anything with an immersive digital element magical.
Children aged 4 and under enter for free. It is a pram friendly venue, ideal for a Parent’s Group because children are encouraged to explore, touch, crawl and discover.

Not just for children or families, The Lume Van Gogh experience is equally enthralling for adults, who make up a large number of visitors.
The Lume exhibition also transforms into an events space in the evening, with a fully equipped commercial kitchen. There are Yoga classes on offer in partnership with Happy Melon Studios.

To save time, you can pre-purchase your souvenir program for $20 when you buy your tickets and collect it on arrival.

Parking costs just $12 for The Lume ticket holders. Pre-purchase your parking through Ticketmaster or collect a validation ticket at the Information Desk to discount your parking at the South Wharf Retail Car Park or the Melbourne Exhibition Centre Car Park.

Before your visit to The Lume’s Van Gogh Melbourne exhibition you can get a taste of what’s ahead by learning more about some of Grande Exhibitions’ other projects Museo Leonardo Da Vinci in Rome (which brings Da Vinci’s designs to life), Planet Shark: Predator Or Prey, or Alice – A Wonderland Adventure.

As you head out, don’t forget to grab a souvenir at The Shop! I recommend grabbing the brand news face masks that feature Van Gogh’s iconic artwork so you can stay COVID-safe in style!
