Itโs no surprise to visitors to this blog that I love travelling!
But what my friends, family and regular #TOTTribe readers will ALSO know that I love a good discount when Iโm travelling. Iโm always the person in a social gathering who will go โoh wait – I have a voucher for that!โ.
Yep, Iโm the discount coupon lady!
And thatโs why I love, and regularly use, Klook. Iโm also an affiliate for them as I think Klook is a great resource that should be shared with more people! Read my review and answers to the most frequently asked questions to find out more.
What is Klook?
Klook is a global tech travel company founded in 2014. The Klook website provides online tickets to local attractions, day tours, airport transfers, transport options, pocket wifi rentals and local SIM cards for 300+ destinations around the world – and very often at a discount I canโt find anywhere else.
Klookย does not run the attractions or tours themselves but works with local providers in each destination.
Is Klookย legit?
I first discover Klookย when we are travelling in Japan, our first overseas holiday with kids. A Google search for โdiscount Tokyo Disneyland ticketsโ brings up Klookโs Tokyoย page. The site seems trustworthy, with reliable positive customer reviews, so I decide to buy the discount voucher for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Seaย (unfortunately this offer is not available on Klook at the moment).
My first encounter with Klookย is a quick and easy transaction and pre-purchasing saves us time AND money. You can even pay in your own currency. Win-win!
In Tokyoย I also use Klookย to purchase a Suica Cardย for metro transport, tickets to Hello Kittyโs Tokyo Sanrio Puroland and Legoland Centre Tokyo.ย At the time we were not able to buy Ghibli Museum tickets except via some convoluted in-person application process – but now you can conveniently buy tickets via Klook!
After our Japanย trip I am now well and truly a fan of Klook and am excited to discover that they have LOTS of great offers for our upcoming travel destinations. Their offers are particularly good for Asian cities, given as they are headquartered in Hong Kong.
Is Klook reliable?
The short answer: YES!
There is always a risk when you pre-purchase vouchers or coupons that they wonโt work or be accepted at the location. Happily, I can say that in all my years using Klookย in many countries I have never considered it a scam or been cheated.
When we visit Hong Kong with kidsย I purchase discount vouchers for popular Hong Kongย attractions ย Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Peak Tram as well as organising Hong Kong Octopus Card with Hong Kong Airport Pickup, 4G Wifi for Hong Kong with Hong Kong Airport Pickupย and Hong Kong Airport Express Train Tickets.
On the west coast of USA I use Klookย to purchase tickets for the California Academy of Sciencesย in San Francisoย then Universal Studios Hollywoodย in Los Angeles.
In New York Cityย I use Klookย to prepurchase tickets to Museum of Modern Art MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Artย and the American Natural History Museum. Some of the tickets allow me to skip the line and others are discount offers that I cannot find for these attractions elsewhere. I realise that buying the Klookย tickets to individual attractions is cheaper than buying tourist passes such as the NYC CityPASSย with lots of attractions that we wouldnโt visit.
For our upcoming trip to Londonย I will be using Klookย to visit the Warner Bros Studio Tourย (they have an exclusive Train plus Tour ticket package), London Eye, the Tower of London,ย double-decker Hop on Hop Off Bus Tourย and a Harry Potter London Walking Tour.
Klook Melbourne discounts
Klook isn’t just for international travel! If you have friends and family visiting Melbourne, or just exploring the city yourself, then Klook is useful for getting discount entry to popular Melbourne attractions.
In Victoriaย the most popular discount tickets are for SEA Life Melbourne Aquarium,ย Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, Puffing Billy Steam Train,ย The Nobbies Antarctic Journey on Phillip Islandย and a Sovereign Hill Entry Ticket.
To save up even more during your Melbourne City Adventure, check out the Klook Pass Melbourne City – an all-in-one pass that will give you access to Melbourneโs top activities and all-time favourite Melbourne attractions such as the Old Melbourne Gaol, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, Melbourne Skydeck, Melbourne Zoo, Legoland and more.
The Melbourne City Klook Pass is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and gives you the flexibility to book whenever you want. Plus, the more activities you see, the more you save!
How to use Klook
All my Klook bookings have been seamless. I often use my phone to purchase (I rarely have a laptop with me or access to a desktop computer when I travel), receive tickets by email (some tickets are instant, some require 24-48 hours to confirm) and then gain access to attractions by scanning the ticket on my phone.
The Klookย app is very easy to use to keep track of your trip bookings and reminds you when youโre booked for each activity. Make sure you download the app from Apple Store andย Google Playย before you depart on your trip.
Earn Klook credits and save more money
For every Klook booking and review you submit, you collect Klookย Credits. Each booking equal to HKD$10 gives you 10 credits and a review earns you 80 credits.
Use your Klookย Credits to receive even further discounts off bookings through Klook!
