Jubilee Parkย in Frankston isย a 13 hectare site which is home to cricket, football and netball clubs and a swimming pool – and a new playground!

Jubilee Park playgroundโs design takesย inspiration from Frankstonโs beach and bushland location, with references to native animals and sea life in the playground equipment.
At the top of one of the climbing forts thereโs a stretched hide drum with the words โcan you find them all?โ inscribed into the wood with various animals. Then itโs a question of playing look-and-find.
The faux rock wall framing the sandpit is embedded with animal shapes and sea urchins you can perch on, steel kangaroos stand to attention…

…a little echidna is hiding in the garden bed, eels slither around the footpath and birds are on the ground and hoisted up high.
The other highlight of the playground areย the two small inground trampolines. Theyโre strong enough to hold (one) adultโs weight and provide something a bit different from your usual playgrounds.
Youโll also find swings, a nest swing, see saw, monkey bars, a flying fox, silly mirrors, multiple slides and forts, a low climbing wall and soft-fall mounds.
The playground is fenced on the side facing the carpark and at the other side is a mysterious looking bushland which is great for exploring together with your kids. Hiding in a canopy of trees youโll find a small creek and a rope swing to hoist yourself over the water (presumably not a Council approved addition!).
The playground is not shaded though there is a built shelter which houses picnic/BBQ facilities. We can’tย find amenities such as public toilets and water tap on site, the nearest toilets are walking distance at the Dr Kevin Collopy Pavilion.
Combine your visit to Jubilee Park with a stop at Frankston Beach and the foreshore area, making it a great half-day adventure with kids.
