Hey families, get ready for a splash of fun at NGV Melbourne with ‘RIFIFI: Jean Jullien for Kids‘! ‘RIFIFI: Jean Jullien for Kids‘ isn’t just any art exhibition – it’s a whole world of fun and learning about sustainability for your little ones.
This latest NGV exhibition inside the NGV Children’s Gallery turns the usual “look but don’t touch” gallery rule on its head. I guarantee the kids will be so excited as they get hands-on with interactive installations and fun art stations!
This is Jean’s first show in Australia, and it’s part of the exciting NGV Triennial 2023.
And the best part? It’s designed to get everyone involved.
NGV Triennial 2023 for Kids
The National Gallery of Victoria exhibition is a colourful, imaginative playground that’s got something for everyone – from your curious toddler to your too-cool-for-school preteen.
Jean Jullien is known for his playful, bold style – think eye-catching black lines and splashes of colour. He’s got a huge fan base (over 1.2 million followers on Instagram!) and has dabbled in everything from painting and illustration to creating cool costumes and even designing clothes.
This exhibition is inspired by his childhood beach trips and love for the ocean. It’s an underwater world that’s not only awesome to look at but also gets kids thinking about how to care for our oceans.
At the exhibit, your little ones can dive into hands-on activities that are all about protecting marine life. Dress up in a fish costume, grab a bucket and go picking up rubbish from the beach!
Draw your designs on a sea star and even take a selfie with a clamshell!
There’s even a special book that complements the exhibition’s theme -, “Who Lives in the Sea?”, illustrated by Jullien. This engaging and educational read is a delightful exploration of ocean life, featuring sea squirts, sardines, squid, and spotted eels, among others.
The best part? RIFIFI: Jean Jullien for Kids and the rest of the NGV Triennial is free! All four floors of the NGV International are packed with amazing art and design from over 120 artists. It’s a great way for you and your kids to spend a day, learn something new, and have a blast.
