The HOT List: Best Cheap Fun in Melbourne with Kids 2014

For more family-friendly fun this coming year, here’s a list of my Top 10 HOT cheap places to play from my 2014 reviews (that you can still visit in 2015). Note that I’ve included two zoos because if you join as a zoo member you get unlimited entry for 12 months, so it can work out cheap!

1. Toddler and Kinder Circus Club at Footscray Community Arts Centre

Weekly drop-in circus skills classes for toddlers and kinder kids at Footscray Community Arts Centre.

2. Yarra Bend Adventure Golf

Reasonably priced adventure mini golf in the inner city.

3. Airdrome, Altona

Huge indoor trampoline play centre with bubs sessions.

4. Altona Miniature Railway

Toot toot! Enjoy cheap, old-fashioned fun with your pre-schoolers.

5. Habitots Albert Park

Cafe, retail store and play space, this Albert Park shop has it all.

6. Hippo Beach at Werribee Zoo

Water play and sandpit play area next to the hippo enclosure.

7. Think Ahead at Scienceworks

Permanent exhibition about the future with lots of interactive exhibits.

8. Heide Art BubsHugely popular monthly program of art workshops for 0-5 years at Heide Museum of Modern Art.

9. Keeper Kids at Melbourne Zoo

My kids’ favourite part of the zoo is not actually the animals but this indoor play space.

10. Artea Art Studio Port Melbourne

Creative play time is available every day at this children’s art studio.
