Eeny Meeny cafe in Frankston was recommended to me by Frankston locals as the best cafe in town and it was awarded Frankston’s best business in 2014.
The cafe is located in Frankston’s commercial heart and provides a serene escape from the bustling streets.
The eclectic retro decor gives the inside front room a cosy feel and there are lots of fun elements to admire, such as vintage teacup spoons and old record sleeves.
The back courtyard is suitable for all seasons as it’s undercover and fitted out with a large fan and wall heaters. It’s got the best seats in the house I think because you can eat your meal to the soothing trickling of the fountain and count the fish in the fishpond. There’s also room for prams and high chairs available.

There’s no specific kids menu but there’s plenty on offer that will satisfy kids. Lady AB had ham, cheese and tomato toaste on Noisette bread ($8.50) while I enjoyed an excellent prawn salad with half a dozen pan-grilled prawns, a generous handful of fresh salad leaves, sweet potato chips and feta ($24). Note the lunch menu starts at 12pm.
The sweets filling the tempting glass cabinet are mostly baked on site. The cafe serves organic, fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance coffee and organic leaf teas.
Eeny Meeny is Frankston’s ‘inner-city-Melbourne’ cafe in a place that often overlooked for good dining options. Head there if you’re having half or full day adventure in Frankston!
