Beware of the trolls! Heatherton Park Clayton South is popularly known as the Monster Park or Troll Park and it is an awesome playground for imaginative play.
It’s nickname is clear as soon as you get there!
The quirky play space is dominated by the wooden sculptures of three enormous trolls – so freaky that Baby 2.0 refuses to go anywhere near them.
Luckily there is lots of other play equipment which is nowhere near the trolls!
Behind the trolls there are two wooden tree house structures with numerous ropes and slides to suit all ages and abilities.

As it’s a hot day we spend most of the time playing imaginative games in the ‘troll house’ dappled with shadows of stars and moons.
Surrounding the troll house is a small rope climb with rubber trampoline, a triple slide structure in the shape of a giant mouth, swings, cup spinners and a rope bridge.
The playground has two public toilets, a water fountain, barbecue shelters and unshaded tables.
There is no shade over most of the play equipment. On a hot day the playground is virtually empty.
The playground is not fenced but entry is via a residential cul de sac and there’s lots of grass surrounding the space.
