Calling all gamers! Fortress Melbourne is the Home of Games, boasting a multitude of entertainment options and spanning over two gigantic levels inside Emporium Melbourne.
Fortress Melbourne has officially partnered with the popular gaming brand Alienware and so the space holds 160 premium Alienware PCs suitable for solo gaming or gaming with a team.
You’ll also find two licensed bars, private party spaces, a huge themed basement Tavern restaurant with VIP video game booths and board game areas, a 200 seat esports arena, and a live broadcast production facility.
The venue offers broad appeal to adults and kids (under 18s need an adult supervising) and during off-peak hours it’s a great place for kids to play games to their heart’s content.

Fortress Melbourne parties
The main Tavern is down the escalator from the main entrance. It is built like a fake medieval castle and the walls are decorated with a rotating collection of artwork from games companies. You might recognise characters and scenes from Elder Scrolls, DOOM Eternal, Diablo, World of Warcraft, Rainbow Six Siege and more.

We book out two VIP booths for Baby 2.0’s birthday party on a Saturday afternoon, which is considered off-peak time.

Each VIP booth must be booked with a minimum of four people. It costs $20 per person which is 100% redeemable on food and drinks, with 2 hours of included gaming on the Nintendo Switch.

Because each Nintendo Switch console only has four controllers, it’s best to book groups of multiples of four ie four, eight, twelve etc. Otherwise, someone will have to wait their turn to play with a controller (a hard ask for young kids especially!).

With the $20 per head credit there is more than enough food and drinks to share amongst a bunch of hungry boys!

Fortress Melbourne PC Gaming
Fortress is the perfect one-stop PC gaming spot that provides a smooth, fast, and unbeatable gaming experience for both pro and casual gamers. Players can dive into well-loved games such as League of Legends, Minecraft, CS:GO, Valorant and more.

Fortress Melbourne Streaming
Adjoining the PC Gaming room, streamers old and new are invited to check and try out the venue’s streamer pods.

This special streaming location can be booked out for a few hours along with a studio pass which will provide you with the perfect set-up to go live and stream to your fans.

Fortress Melbourne Board Games
If video games aren’t your thing, there are over 100 board games you can hire from the Tavern Reception or feel free to bring your own board game instead.

Some of the well-known board and tabletop games include Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, Catan, Uno, and Azul!.

Currently, the Tavern is offering a Bottomless Board Game package promotion where you can get Bottomless loaded fries & pizza, a free drink on arrival, and unlimited gameplay of their Board Game Library; or a Free Play Wednesday where you walk in or pre-book a table on Wednesdays and select from a library of over 100s board games to enjoy with friends or family.
