Zip Line Melbourne With Firefly Zipline

This December get ready for an adrenaline rush as you zipline over the Yarra River and see stunning and iconic Melbourne CBD views from above.

Firefly Zipline is returning to Melbourne in 2022!

Starting Friday 16 December, the 130m Firefly Zipline experience will send you zooming across the Melbourne skyline with speeds reaching up to 40km/h.

You’ll be able to see famous city sites like The MCG and The Arts Centre from a vantage point like never before!

Firefly Zipline is the first experience of its kind in the Melbourne CBD and the first in Australia that goes over a major river.

The zipline will have you flying 9m above the ground starting from Federation Square, over the Yarra River and ending in the Alexandra Gardens.

The zipline runs one-way only, so at Alexandra Gardens you’ll need to walk back across Princes Bridge to the starting point.

There’s an extensive safety briefing and harness is very snug and secure, so you feel safe as you dangle your feet above the rooftops!

Children are welcome to enjoy the zipline but their parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver if they’re under 18 and a parent or guardian to accompany them on the zip line if they’re under 12.

Note that you have to be above 35kg and children can’t be strapped onto adults, so this experience is for older kids/teens and adults only.

Make sure to bring a friend along to take on the experience with you as it’s best enjoyed with someone by your side. Also, bring a selfie stick if you want to take videos of yourself or your buddy zooming along!

The entire experience, including a checking-in safety briefing, harnessing and gear and walking back to the bridge after your zip, should take around 45 minutes.

While the actual zipline experience is pretty short, it’s a unique experience that in itself is worth the money.

This year you can also book for the Quick Jump. Take a leap of faith off of the zipline, as you free fall a heart-stopping 4 metres before plummeting 12m to the ground whilst safely secured in a harness. This is one for the real thrill-seekers! You can book the Quick Jump as a separate experience or combine it with a zipline experience.

The pop-up zipline expreience runs for four weeks and only 5000 tickets are available. So make sure to book your Firefly Zipline tickets to avoid missing out on this first-of-its-kind experience.

Afterwards, you can spend some time in the city to indulge in delicious food and drinks, see the best Christmas lights and decorations in Melbourne, or just join in the Christmas festivities and activities happening in Melbourne!
