RISING Calling Country The Land Speaks Back

The Hamer Hall façade becomes a canvas for the power of dance in this free outdoor projection series presented as part of Rising Melbourne.

Featuring films by the Djirri Djirri Wurundjeri Women’s Dance Group, Traditional Custodians of Naarm, alongside a new iteration of Midéegaadi by internationally recognised Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara and Lakota artist Cannupa Hanska Luger, the series explores connections between First Peoples, land, and more-than-human kin through somatic ecologies, ceremony, and Indigenous futurisms.

On display nightly from Wednesday 27 May to Monday 8 June, from 6:00pm to 11:00pm at Hamer Hall Façade.

Free to view.
