Melbourne’s Biggest Halloween

The District Docklands goes all out for Halloween with a free trick or treat trail, ten days of spooky decorations and parties that run into the night.
Trick or Treat Trail (Saturday 31 October, 3pm-5pm): Follow a printed map from check-in to over ten treat stops from Star Crescent, with a bowl of lollies behind every door with a decal in the window. It’s undercover the whole way, so rain won’t call it off. Best costume wins a $100 gift voucher.
10 Days of Halloween (21-31 October): A five-metre witch’s hat goes up over a bubbling cauldron and a giant jack-o’-lantern takes over the laneway. Shopfronts get a spooky makeover, with Docklands Primary students’ poster designs in the windows, and the Melbourne Star runs a Halloween light show once it’s dark.
Halloween night: At 5pm the hockey starts at O’Brien Icehouse and the skating turns Halloween. From 6pm the precinct is for the grown-ups, with themed menus, costume nights and late trade at Archie Brothers, Urban Alley Brewery, Saboteurs and The Pink Rabbit. Line-ups will be announced venue by venue closer to the day.
