Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre – Free Guided Walks

On the first Sunday of each month, a Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre volunteer leads a walk around the Laverton Creek Estuary and Truganina Park, exploring the area’s rich biodiversity and history.

The group sets off at 11am and returns by 1pm, starting and ending at the Truganina Explosives Reserve, 274 Queen Street Altona.

Wear weather-appropriate clothes, sturdy footwear, and bring a camera or binoculars if you have them.

Children must be accompanied by a guardian.

Afterwards, enjoy the Truganina Explosives Reserve Open Day, which is also held on the first Sunday of each month from 1pm to 4pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy the amazing gardens and learn more about Altona’s history.
