This Christmas one of the best free things you can do to celebrate the festive season is to visit the Crown Christmas Spectacular and Crown’s ArtVo Christmas 3D Trick Art Walls.
The Crown Towers Atrium Spectacular is on daily until Tuesday 1 January. The show features spectacular lighting, music and animatronics displays from 10am to 12am midnight. The display goes for about 15 minutes and starts on the hour and half hour.
If you’ve attended before the show is much the same as last year. My kids can’t remember the finer details of the show so are thrilled to see it again this year.
The Christmas Tree glitters with different colours and each jewelled egg reveals an animatronic character from a famous Christmas carol inside.
The kids run from one egg to the other, shouting with glee.
There are also free Santa photos from Sunday 25 November – Monday 24 December 12pm – 6pm daily and festive entertainment every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm – 6pm. If you can’t make it to any of the Santa photo sessions then you can still write a letter to Santa and post it in Crown’s special mailbox, though I don’t know where it’s located.
If you’re looking for the ultimate Christmas card family photo then pose in front of Crown’s free Christmas ArtVo 3D paintings.
There are 12 handpainted walls, mostly gathered around Level 1 near the cinemas, with one wall by the Christmas Tree in the Crown Towers Atrium.
Some of the backgrounds are more effective than others – we like the snow globe, gingerbread house, meeting Santa and the Merry Christmas sign!
