Crocodile Park Point Cook is part of a residential development called Saltwater Coast. The playground, barbecue area, boardwalk and cafe is one of sixteen parkland areas in the development and is set amongst some beautiful glistening wetlands.
The Point Cook playground uses a cheerful blue and white nautical colour scheme and the equipment is bedded into a mixture of soft white sand and blue soft fall surfaces.
The highlight is the extensive water play area which starts from the crocodile’s mouth into a small wading pool…
….winds its way along stepping stones….
…and ends in squirting water jets!
Other parts of the playground include several climbing forts suitable for 3+ years (because there’s not an easy way to get down)…
…rope bridges…

…two steep metal slides…
…two basket swings…
…and a double springer see saw. There are also small pieces of play equipment dotted along the boardwalk.
There is only one BBQ shelter at the playground but more further afield in the wetlands area. The nearest toilets are either at the toilet block across the walking bridge or at the Coast Cafe/land sales office.
For me the best part of this Point Cook park is that it isn’t just plonked in the middle of nowhere with empty housing lots. I really love the mixture of boardwalks and bridges over the made made wetlands. In fact, that’s the first part Baby 2.0 gravitates towards before he even spots the playground! The water is generally barricaded by low shrubbery but of course, still be vigilant.
