Carrum Beach is reputed to be one of Melbourne’s best beaches and it’s a particularly family-friendly destination thanks to the excellent Carrum Beach playground.
The equipment in the Carrum foreshore playground has a nautical theme, with a cave-like maze housing sea creatures, a central lighthouse complete with telescope for looking across the bay, a rocking Wave Rider boat, a miniature wooden pier – all combined with a giant sand pit!
In addition there is a plastic and wood climbing fort and slide, two swings, a nest swing, a spinning tea cup and two diggers for construction fun.
Carrum Beach park is partially gated and fenced, with open access from the carpark. Dotted around the perimeter are wooden deckchairs, picnic/BBQ shelters and a water tap. Shade is provided via some tall beach umbrellas but they do not provide much shade depending on the time of day you go.
