The Carnivores’ Trail at Melbourne Zoo is the home for the Zoo’s top-order predators and some of the world’s most powerful carnivores.
It starts at the present Lion Gorge, the enclosures for the African Wild Dogs and Philippines Crocodile and extends to new areas for the Snow Leopard, South American Coati, the Sumatran Tige and the Tasmanian Devil.
You can see the animals up close through one-way glass and the Snow Leopard exhibit also features an overhanging viewing platform.
In amongst the enclosures, there are the existing water play fountains at Lion Gorge…
….a small climbing frame for children inspired by coatis and a spider web (watch your head if you’re a tall adult!)….
