Candlelight Concert Melbourne Review
Candlelight Concertsโ curated repertoire spans different genres and eras, including jazz, pop, rock, classical and movie soundtracks. Whether you’re a seasoned music enthusiast or a casual listener, there’s something for everyone.
I took my kids (10 and 12 years) to The Beatles tribute concert by candlelight.
It was a little strange at first hearing the songs played by a string quartet – but soon we were captivated by the beauty of the candle light concert.
Candlelight Concerts often feature local talent, giving them a platform to showcase their skills and share their passion with the community.
The musicians were very talented and clearly enjoying themselves on stage. We liked the little introductions to each piece – while the songs were all familiar, it was interesting to hear some of the background behind some of the songs.
The highlights for us were โBlackbirdโ, punctuated by distinct bird-like sounds created by the musicians gently scraping their bows across the strings. Iโd never heard anything like it before!
Then the finale, Letโs Get Together, played with exuberance and displays of musical technical virtuosity!
At only 65 minutes and with shows starting at 6:30pm (thereโs also a second show at 8:30pm), the Candlelight Concerts are perfectly timed for kids. You can have an early dinner before the show and with such a short duration thereโs not too much time for fidgeting!
Fever recommends that the candlelight concerts are best enjoyed by kids 8+ years. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Candlelight Concerts Melbourne Locations
The iconic venues chosen for the Fever Candlelight Concerts in Melbourne (and around the world) add an extra layer of magic to the event. From historic churches to elegant theatres, each location has a unique story to tell.
Even though Iโve been to the Athenaneum Theatre many times, for the Candlelight Concert we climbed upstairs to a small, elegant room. It felt like an exclusive Paris salon!
The room was set up with ground level seating and raised, tiered seating towards the back. Given the intimate surrounds, everyone got a good view of the stage.
