
Boundlessย playgroundย is Canberraโs first all abilities playground and is worth visiting if you need a break from sightseeing, as it’sย in the centre of town inside Kingโs Park near the shores of Lake Burley Griffin.
The aim is to create a state-of-the-art play space that is fun and inclusive. Stage one ofย Boundlessย playgroundย opened in October 2014 and stages two and three include installing more swings, a slide, a sensory garden, and interactive, musical and educational artworks and sculptures and ย a kiosk.
The fully fenced playground is zoned to cater to different ages and abilities. It features rarely found equipment, such as the accessible merry-go-round, see saw, reclining swing and water play area.

Other highlights include a large sprawling climbing structure, a spinning pod, sand pit, water play tap and a nest swing.
The playground and Kingโs Park are popular with families enjoying a picnic or barbecue. Adjacent toย Boundlessย playgroundย is a plantation of Blue Gums, which provide late afternoon shade in summer to the play space as well asย wind protection.
