The lights here sync with music and the display features a selfie wall and walk-through sections to explore. This Christmas light show, created by a father-son duo, took over 4 months to make and was programmed by an individualwho helped build the Myer Christmas windows.

2. Glencairn Drive, Greenvale

Dive into festive music as you explore the decorated room, Christmas statues, moving displays, nativity scene and six animated windows.

Running for over 20 years, the owner loves to bring joy to the community, while any donations go to supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. This extensive setup is lit from 8pm to 1am.

3. Loch Street, Coburg

The house is lit in vibrant colours, with a variety of Christmas statues such as reindeer, lampposts, oversized baubles, and more. Then there’s the trains, Santa’s sleigh, a large Santa with his dog, elves, candy canes, Nutcracker, a large arch and a snowman family!

Its best attribute is the vibrant colour scheme, which provides a visually appealing experience that is not overcrowded and easily viewed.

5. Warwick Close, Wantirna

This Christmas display is filled with decorations, music, inflatables and a dazzling roof showcase. Lighting up December nights from 8:30pm to 11pm, this enchanting tradition, featuring everything from an inflatable Santa to colourful lights and festive tunes, has been spreading joy for over 20 years.

6. Boyd Close, Mooroolbark

This wonderland has roof decorations, inflatables and lights, including a life-size Santa sleigh, 3-metre inflatable reindeer and snow machine.

Enjoy Christmas carols and snowfall on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, while supporting Mooroolbark CFA. Keep an eye out for Santa on select dates including on Christmas Eve to indulge in The Whippy Truck Ice Cream and Gelati at 8pm.

Formerly located at 1 Hayward Court, Vermont, this Christmas garden has themed areas and hidden gems.

Walk through the dazzling entrance arch, marvel at a massive 4m full LED tree with Santa and reindeer and experience the huge Christmas Express Train covering half the garden! The displays will not be running if it’s raining.

8. Rawdon Court, Boronia

With an extra 20,000 lights added since last year, this alluring Christmas display will impress from the moment you round the bend into the quaint court!

85,000 LED’s saturate the property from the very highest peak of the roofline all over the front of the house and down through the driveway towards the tiered garden. Enjoy a mega display raising money for The Royal Children’s Hospital. Visitors should park in Beresford Road due to traffic.

A street display where most houses get in on the Christmas (lights) spirit! The owners tell us it’s a huge attraction on the weekend where you can walk around and visit all the different displays.

10. Old Melbourne Road, Chirnside Park

Visit the famous computerised light show at Oxley! Every year since 2006, this annual event provides the community with a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy a fun night during the Christmas season.

11. Viney Street, Clarinda

A Christmas display that requires barely any description. Its just bright, bright, bright. Most likely the brightest display in Melbourne! It’s a classic display – no giant inflatables here. Admire behind the fence from the footpath or across the road.

12. Yalta Court, Clayton South

Not far from the Clarinda house is a nice walk in display in Clayton South. The owners have been doing lights for over 20 years and know a thing or two about pleasing the crowds. Enjoy the various displays and decorations on show.

13. Pushkin Court, Doncaster East

A long running display that’s so much more than lights (though heaps of them too!) You’ll love a corner block fence display with dozens of glowing Christmas characters, windows on all sides occupied with Christmas themes and a beautiful nativity scene to top it all off!

14. Middlesex Court, Cranbourne North

With tens of thousands of colourful lights illuminating this large display every night from 8:30pm to 11pm, the entire house and driveway are decked out for you to explore and enjoy with the family.

Also enjoy the nativity scene, inflatables, roof decorations, moving displays and lasers/projections!

15. Darvall Street, Donvale

Be prepared to be wowed! Say hello to all your Christmas friends with more inflatables than you ever knew existed! The kids will love the decorations here that’ll make them feel like you’ve stepped into the North Pole!

Lights on every night till 12am and inflatables Friday to Sunday.

The medium-sized display lights up the house and entire front yard with thousands of lights, showcasing moving features including a forest of trees, Santa’s sleigh, reindeer, candy canes and more.

The lights are on from 7:30pm to 12am and having run for over a decade, the owners find joy in bringing happiness to the community.

18. Dunnings Road, Point Cook

Always a fun display, visitors will find many light and inflatables to enjoy, plus lovely window displays with music. The best thing about this house is being to walk down the drive and visit the various sections. Lollies given to the good children!

These owners are Christmas Light veterans! Having been lighting up their house for well over 20 years, they know a thing or two about entertaining the locals. Taking well over a month to set up you’ll find heaps of lights and inflatables here – a great one for the kids!

20. Aloma Avenue, Wyndham Vale

The one and only, Thomas the Tank Engine display! The owner’s hand built 5-foot long Thomas display is the centrepiece, but there are also heaps of other lights and displays on show too. One of Melbourne’s more unique displays with some great photo opportunities! Run’s late to midnight.

21. Monte Carlo Drive, Point Cook

Explore the Christmas village, a festive town visible through the windows, where you’ll be welcomed by a family of snowmen as you stroll up.

The owners create this display for their own and the community’s enjoyment, embodying the Christmas spirit.

22. Cooper Street, Sunshine

These owners are Christmas lights veterans – having decorated for now over 20 years at their Sunshine property! 

Taking way over a month to set up, the Walsh’s Christmas Wonderland comes to life with a variety of clever props, displays and themes. The owners tell us the best thing about their display is the handmade LED display that projects Merry Christmas in ten different languages.

23. Grevillea Road, Kings Park

Last, but certainly not least, here’s a beautiful walk in display that’s a lot of fun! Thousands of lights await visitors as they walk through the massive Candy Cane Archway.

A mini Christmas village is also on display, as well as snow machines that run nightly (is busy enough!).
