Ballam Park is double the fun!
The Eastern side wooden playground is a favourite with Frankston/Mornington Peninsula toddlers and babies, with an extensive network of ramps, climbing equipment and slides. The natural shade from the surrounding trees provides perfect picnic spots, as well as a sheltered picnic table and water taps.
On the Western side of the park the council has just upgraded the ageing equipment to transform the area into a fantastic skate park and adventure playground suitable for older children. It’s known as ‘Ballam Bumps Regional Playspace’ and won one of the prizes for best playspace in the 2018 Victorian Landscape Architecture Awards.
The skate park includes a basketball/multi-use court with climbing and rebound wall…
…metal frames for climbing and rails…
…small bumps and hillocks…
…and in ground trampolines.
Baby 2.0 tests the surface out on his scooter and bike and loves it – he doesn’t stop smiling!
The adventure playground has a natural wooden structure in keeping with the parkland. It features several large slides, lots of wooden poles with climbing notches, rope nets, spider webs a nest swing and flying fox.
