[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Arrr We There Yet?! is a high-flying, high-energy performance by Head First Acrobats, who make a triumphant return to their home sea – er, town – of Melbourne after seasons at the Adelaide and Perth Fringe festivals.
Arrr We There Yet?! is part of the impressive family line-up for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and we are invited to review the show.
Staged at the Famous Spiegeltent at the Arts Centre Melbourne, the show encourages all the โlittle fishesโ in the audience to embrace their inner pirate, which they do with great enthusiasm. There is slapstick, stupidity, sharks and swashbuckling aplenty.
The storyline is simple and serves simply as a seafaring vehicle for the comic and circus talents of the showโs talented crew, who are all graduates of Melbourne’s National Institute of Circus Arts.
Arrr We There Yet?! has been rebooted since its initial season, so even people who think theyโve seen it before will enjoy it again. Thereโs a seasickness-inducing plank, flying knives, a spooky ghost and a sleepy shark, as well as the most perfectly balanced ladder youโll ever see.
There are more bad pirate jokes than you can poke a cutlass at, but itโs the acrobatics that are truly astonishing! Whether itโs your first circus performance or your 21st, youโll laugh, gasp, hold your breath and laugh some more.
