This free display in The Atrium at Crown Towers features twelve Chinese zodiac animal lanterns.
These colourful silk lanterns are similar to those seen at the popular Dandenong Festival of Lights in previous years. Take the time to look closely to appreciate the delicacy of the handiwork and expressions of the animals.
The animal lanterns, as well as the sixty red Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling, are internally lit and the animals change colour over time.
In the evening there are roving lion dancers at 7pm and 9pm every day from Friday 1 February to Sunday 7 February and then 7pm and 10:30pm every day from Friday 8 February to Sunday 10 February.
Zodiac Spectacular is a delightful display for children and a worthwhile stop if you’re heading to one of Crown’s restaurants to celebrate Chinese New Year or visiting any of Crown’s other Lunar and Chinese New Year events. Don’t miss the Hawkers’ Bazaar (Fri 8 Feb – Sun 10 Feb 11am-10pm), the fireworks (Sat 9 Feb 9:45pm), the nightly Fire Dragon Show along the Crown Riverwalk (Thu 31 Jan – Tue 12 Feb) and the free ArtVo trick art 3D photo walls dotted around various locations across Crown (Fri 1 Feb – Sun 17 Feb).
