HOT: WYNCITY Bowl and Entertainment Centre, Point Cook

Indoors fun that keeps kids entertained for hours can be hard to find. Enter WYNCITY, an indoors entertainment complex that’s a perfect option when the weather’s too hot, cold or wet to be outside.

Their Point Cook branch is only 20 minutes from the CBD and we are invited to visit to try out some of their activities. They offer tenpin bowlinglaser tagbumper carsglow mini golf and have an in-house restaurant and bar.

WYNCITY also caters for groups, birthday parties and even conferences.

Lady AB and Baby 2.0 strap on their bowling shoes then try their hand at knocking down the ten pins with a rather unusual bowling style.

Luckily there are bumper rails (for me and the kids!) and there’s even a little slide for the juniors.

Between us, we only manage one strike – and that’s because two balls are in the lane at once (whoops!).

Next up was the arcade games with whacking, button-pressing and shooting games galore, with most games being $2 a go.

The highlight is the bumper cars, which cost $6 a ride. The kids cackle as they spin and bump into the walls and each other. No need to go scrounging for coins either, you pre-purchase a swipe card with credit that automatically deducts the right amount as payment.

Toddlers have a soft fenced play area but the kids barely give it a glance when I say ‘time for pizza!’.

We settle into one of the booths and dive into wood-fired pizzas and decadent desserts. The food is filling and fast and they have daily specials along with the large menu of pizzas, burgers, salads and main meals. Next time I’m going to try the Nutella calzone! You can also just grab a snack from the cafeteria area if you don’t fancy a full sit-down meal.

WYNCITY is a great one-stop destination for kids little kids right up to teenagers – and adults can join in the fun too. It’s bright and clean and the young staff are friendly and solicitous, particularly in the restaurant. Across the road you will find Williams Landing Station, only took us 30 minutes to get back into the City!
