They also echo the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): “Allah (God) is Beautiful and loves beautiful things.” Inspired by this idea\, Muslims have long decorated buildings\, textiles\, ceramics and books with beautiful geometric patterns. \nJoin us for a fun and educational Geometric Watercolour Painting Workshop created especially for kids! Children will explore the fascinating world of Islamic geometric design while carefully painting their own pattern using watercolours. The process of colouring these repeating designs encourages focus and creativity\, making the workshop a calm and mindful art experience. Perfect for young creatives and curious minds\, this workshop blends art\, maths and storytelling in a celebration of Islamic heritage.

DESCRIPTION:Create your own ceramic tile inspired by the stunning tessellations found in mosques around the world in this hands-on workshop at the Islamic Museum of Australia\, running from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Participants aged 7 and over learn to form air-dry clay into tiles and imprint geometric patterns drawn from Islamic art and architecture\, choosing from Persian floral designs\, Moroccan geometric styles and more. \nNo prior experience needed and all materials are provided. You’ll leave with a unique tile to take home. Tickets are $12.
